Our leading brands includeITT Cannon, Enidine, Aerospace Controls and kSARIA.\nPosition Summary\nMajor(s): Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Junior year desired\nInternship Schedule: May - August 2027, full-time, 40 hours per week\nAbout the experience: The Manufacturing Engineering ITT Cannon intern will have the opportunity to work for the founding and most storied aerospace and defense electrical connector manufacturer in North America. They will obtain first- hand experience in the design and validation of electrical connectors used in the harsh environment military and aerospace environment. The intern will be guided and mentored by experienced design engineers throughout the process, ensuring they have a meaningful and productive experience.\nEssential Responsibilities\nParticipate in all design stages of a specific harsh environment electrical connector development project including:\nInterpreting customer design input requirements. Including regulatory and environmental constraints in order to develop scope of work and estimate project hours and project schedule\nParticipate in early-stage concept development, including designing and creating preliminary 3D CAD models.\nPresent design concepts to engineering department as part of Preliminary Design Review\nPerform design changes based on team feedback on selected final design concept.\nFinalize 3D CAD model and generate 2D CAD drawings of selected design.\nWork with procurement to select vendors, receive quotations, and procure prototypes of selected design.\nCreate Design Validation Test Plan for selected design\nWork with ITT Cannon internal engineering lab and possibly external labs to observe testing set up and provide technical assistance as necessary.\nInterpret design validation test results to determine if design changes are necessary.\nWork with Engineering Documentation to release final design.\nThe intern will be guided throughout the design project by engineering team members but will be able to be a full participant in the design process.\nSafety is a core value at ITT. Our employees understand and follow all ITT safety policies and procedures, participate in workplace inspections, safety training, and in the development of job safety analyses.\nPosition Requirements\nCurrently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering program (BS/MS/PhD), in good standing\nKnowledge of basic mechanical and electrical design principles.\nKnowledge of metals, plastics, and rubber materials helpful, but not required.\nKnowledge of designing for CNC machining and injection molding preferred\nKnowledge/experience in CAD, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint\nMust continue enrollment in degree program upon completion of the internship\n This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
