You’ll use your personality, facilitation skills and community knowledge to make conversations about gambling practical, relatable and culturally safe.\nYou’ll work alongside Deadly Choices staff, Gambling Harm Counsellors, Elders, community groups, ACCHOs and Gambling Help Services to raise awareness, reduce stigma and make sure our mob know where to go when they or their families need support.\nYour day-to-day might include:\nDeliveringinteractive and engaging sessions about gambling, healthy choices and gambling harm.\nFacilitating workshops, yarning circles and activities with community groups.\nGetting out to Deadly Choices events, community days, health expos and other activities to engage with community.\nUsing yarning, storytelling, games and interactive activities to make gambling education interesting and easy to understand.\nWorking with local services to connect people with the right gambling support when needed.\nHelping develop creative resources, activities and campaigns that speak to our communities.\nBuilding strong relationships with Elders, community members, ACCHOs and Gambling Help Services.\nEncouraging open conversations about gambling and helping reduce shame and stigma around asking for support.\nWe’re looking for someone who:\nIs confident, outgoing and enjoys facilitating groups.\nCan connect and have a yarn with people from all walks of life.\nIs passionate about supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.\nHas an interest, passion or experience in the gambling harm space.\nCan take a serious topic and make the education engaging, positive and relatable.\nLoves being out in community rather than sitting behind a desk all day.\nAbout You?\nCurrent C Class Drivers Licence (QLD)\nCurrent Criminal History Check\nCurrent Working with Children’s Check (Qld Blue Card)\nCurrent First Aid and CPR.\nCertificate IV or Diploma in Community Services, Mental Health, Health Promotion, Alcohol and Other Drugs, Counselling, Social Work, Public Health, or related field.\nDemonstrated experience delivering community education, workshops, or health promotion activities.\nKnowledge and understanding of gambling harm, addiction, trauma-informed practice, and social determinants impacting communities.\nStrong communication and facilitation skills, including ability to engage diverse audiences.\nExperience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and understanding of culturally safe practice (if applicable to your organisation/program).\nDesirable, but not mandatory:\nDemonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communities\nLived experience of gambling harm (personal or as an affected family member).\nExperience delivering cultural
