Our work strengthens individuals, families, communities, and the future of Indiana.\nAbout the Role:\nWe are seeking a highly skilled and student-centered Academic Advisor to join our School of Information Technology. In this role, you will provide developmental academic advising for new and continuing students using a case management approach. You will assist students in defining personal and academic career goals, interpreting and understanding placement scores, program curriculum and pre-requisites, and developing basic skills to register for courses, as appropriate. The Academic Advisor will refer students to appropriate internal and external resources that foster student success.\n***RESUME AND COVER LETTER REQUIRED FOR CONSIDERATION***\nRequired Skills & Competencies:\nTechnical Skills: Proficiency in zoom and Microsoft word and excel, with hands-on experience in higher education platforms.\nAnalytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, identify patterns, and provide data-driven solutions.\nCommunication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly to diverse audiences.\nProblem-Solving: Ability to think critically, make decisions independently, and solve complex problems in a timely manner.\nTeamwork: Proven experience in collaborating effectively with diverse teams to achieve common goals.\nProject Management: Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and track progress in a fast-paced environment.\nLeadership Skills: Ability to take initiative and step up for teammates and students when needed.\nPreferred Additional Skills:\nFamiliarity with canvas and salesforce platforms.\nExperience in higher education and advising or similar environments.\nAbility to multi-task and handle fast-paced events and a large volume of email and student inquiries.\nProblem solving and adaptability\nSupport retention, persistence, and completion for SAMEAS students\nKey Responsibilities:\nThe following is not to be construed as an exhaustive list.
