The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by the School.\nMajor Responsibilities:\nPROGRAM OPERATION:\nPerform all instructional duties necessary to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes.\nProvide syllabus appropriate to course(s) being taught to students and follows syllabus content and requirements.\nMaintain student attendance and grading records according to College policy as outlined in the Adjunct Handbook. Submit requested information within established timelines.\nSTUDENTS:\nBe available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions or provide assistance. Deal with student concerns and, if necessary, consult with program coordinator to resolve issues.\nINSTRUCTION:\nMeet all scheduled classes of contracted course(s). Use technology such as Canvas, PowerPoint, etc. as appropriate.\nIn event of emergency absence, notifies program/department chair.\nConduct all activities with an appreciation and respect for diversity of people, styles, and views.\nPromote same as an integral part of one's work.\nPay: $47.35 per contact hour\nHours: Daytime, evening, or weekend classes - dependent on availability and course schedule\nRequirements:\n*Candidates must upload a copy of transcripts to be considered\nA qualified faculty member in Healthcare Specialist meets all three of the following criteria:\nPossesses an earned baccalaureate or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution; and \nHas a minimum of 2 years directly related work experience; and \nHolds certification or licensure in a health care discipline providing care or service directly to patients (such as Respiratory Care, Pharmacology, Phlebotomy, etc)\nSelected candidate for employment will be subject to pre-employment background checks, including criminal history check, and any offer of employment will be contingent upon that outcome.\nIvy Tech is committed to supporting the well-being, growth, and financial security of our part-time employees.
