Adjunct Faculty are responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided.\nMajor Responsibilities:\nFacilitates student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.\nMakes optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods. Develops/maintains course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials.\nMaintains accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.\nEngages with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and leads to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College, shows evidence of developing and implementing active classroom teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning (curricular).\nInteracts with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner, complies with College policies, campus guidelines and expectations.\nEnsures knowledge of and implements emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs and all learning environments.\nThis is not to be construed as an exhaustive list.\nOther duties logically associated with this position may be assigned. All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.\nSchedule:\nDay or evening classes based on class schedule and enrollment\nRequirements:\nA qualified faculty member in Information Technology Support (ITSP) meets the program standard through one of four routes:\n1. Possesses an earned master’s degree or higher, from a regionally accredited institution, in information technology or related field as appropriate to the program\n2. Possesses an earned related or out-of field master’s degree, from a regionally accredited institution, with documented 18 semester hours or equivalent of courses beyond the introductory principle(s) level in information technology or related field as appropriate to the program\n3. Possesses an earned related or out-of-field master’s degree, from a regionally accredited institution, with documentation in two or more of the following:\nProfessional certification (national, regional or state)\nTwo years of in-field professional employment\nDocumented evidence of teaching excellence, including date of award\nDocumentation of research and publication in the field\nDocumented relevant additional coursework beyond the bachelor’s degree, equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent subject matter coursework, CEU’s, vendor, or military\n4. Possesses an earned bachelor’s degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in information technology or related field as appropriate to the program, with documentation in two or more of the following:\nProfessional certification (national, regional or state) in the field\nTwo years of in-field professional employment\nDocumented evidence of teaching excellence, including date of award\nDocumentation of research and publication in the field\nDocumented relevant additional coursework beyond the bachelor’s degree, equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent subject matter coursework, CEU’s, vendor, or military.\nITSP 135 Course Standard:\nA qualified faculty member teaching ITSP 135 meets the Information Technology Support (ITSP) program standard (above) and holds a valid, non-expired CompTIA A+ certification or CompTIA Network+ certification.\nITSP 215 Course Standard:\nA qualified faculty member teaching ITSP 215 meets the Information Technology Support (ITSP) program standard (above) and holds a valid, non-expired CompTIA Mobility+ certification, CWNP’s Certified Wireless Network Administration certification, CWNP’s Certified Wireless Network Professional certification, or is a current Cisco Academy Instructor with the Wireless course qualifications.\nPosition requires sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of the College students and employees.\n*All Applications must include a Cover Letter and an Unofficial Transcript\nFully supports the College’s mission and strategic plan initiatives.\nSelected candidate for employment will be subject to pre-employment background checks, including criminal history check, and any offer of employment will be contingent upon that outcome.\nIvy Tech is committed to supporting the well-being, growth, and financial security of our part-time employees.
