This role will support students learning math while working in local manufacturing settings.\nAdjunct Faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions hired each semester on an as-needed basis. The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by the School.\nMajor Responsibilities:\nCandidates considered for adjunct positions under this postings must be able to provide instruction in person at the Evansville, IN campus.\nPROGRAM OPERATION:\nPerform all instructional duties necessary to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes.\nProvide syllabus appropriate to course(s) being taught to students and follows syllabus content and requirements.\nMaintain student attendance and grading records according to College policy as outlined in the Adjunct Handbook.\nSubmits requested information within established timelines.\nSTUDENTS:\nIs available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions/provide assistance.\nDeal with student concerns and, if necessary, consult with program coordinator to resolve issues.\nINSTRUCTION:\nMeet all scheduled classes of contracted course(s). Use technology such as Blackboard, PowerPoint, etc. as appropriate.\nIn event of emergency absence, notifies program/department chair.\nConduct all activities with an appreciation and respect for diversity of people, styles, and views. Promote same as an integral part of one's work.\nThe above list of duties is not to be construed as an exhaustive list. Other duties associated with the position may be assigned.\nHiring Range:\n$45.00 per contact hour (approximately $2,160 per 8-week course).\nWork Hours:\nThis role will work one day a week for 8 hours. \nMinimum Qualifications\nPossesses an earned master's or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in mathematics; or Possesses an earned master's or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in any field with 18 graduate credit hours in mathematics-related courses.\nMust have strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to area of instruction\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience providing instruction at a post-secondary institute, preferable focused on real-world mathematical applications. \nIvy Tech is committed to supporting the well-being, growth, and financial security of our part-time employees.
