The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by the school.Program Operation:\nPerform all instructional duties necessary to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes.\nProvide syllabus appropriate to course(s) being taught to students and follows syllabus content and requirements.\nMaintain student attendance and grading records according to College policy as outlined in the Adjunct Handbook.\nSubmits requested information within established timelines.\nStudents:\nIs available to students outside of scheduled class time to answer questions/provide assistance.\nDeal with student concerns and, if necessary, consult with program coordinator to resolve issues.\nInstruction:\nMeet all scheduled classes of contracted course(s).\nUses technology such as Canvas, PowerPoint, etc. as appropriate. In event of emergency absence, notifies program/department chair.\nPromote same as an integral part of one's work.\nA qualified faculty member in early childhood education meets the following program standards:\n1. Possesses an earned master’s or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution in education or a related field appropriate to the program,\nAND\n2. Current or expired professional state teaching license/certification and\nAt least three years of K-12 teaching experience.\nAND\n3. Other requirements for Science of Reading classes:\nMSJ Science of Reading Training Microcredential for Ivy Tech faculty\nOR\nComplete Cox Campus Structured Literacy Series Modules and complete the Cox Campus final Structured Literacy Exam Certificate\nOR\nSuccessful KPEERI Exam Completion\nOR\nSuccessful completion of Keys to Literacy (80 hours)\nOR\nSuccessful completion of Praxis #5205\nOR\nIndiana Literacy Endorsement (added to teaching license)\nOR\nUpon Curriculum Committee review, equivalent or higher credential in Science of Reading, preferably from an IDA accredited institution, i.e, Mt.
