Adjunct faculty are responsible for creating a supportive learning environment that helps students achieve their educational goals and for delivering effective instruction and assessment using common syllabi provided by the school.Major Responsibilities\nProgram Operation\nPerform all instructional duties necessary to teach assigned courses and facilitate student learning.\nProvide students with the appropriate course syllabus and adhere to all syllabus content and requirements.\nMaintain accurate attendance and grading records in accordance with college policies as outlined in the Adjunct Handbook.\nSubmit required reports and information within established timelines.\nStudents\nBe available to students outside of scheduled class times to answer questions and provide academic assistance.\nAddress student concerns and consult with the program coordinator when necessary to resolve issues.\nInstruction\nMeet all scheduled classes for contracted courses.\nUse instructional technologies (e.g., Ivy Learn, PowerPoint, and other relevant tools) as appropriate.\nNotify the program or department chair in the event of an emergency absence.\nConduct all instructional activities with respect for diversity of individuals, learning styles, perspectives, and backgrounds, and actively promote inclusivity as part of professional practice.\nPay: $44.64 per contact hour\nEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:\nMust have strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to the area of instruction and meet faculty credentials as outlined in the ASOM 7.1 for the specific area(s) of instruction. Conducts all activities with an appreciation, respect, and promotion of diversity of people, styles, and views.\nRequired Certification:\nMust possess a current Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) certification to teach Welding for the Logansport Juvenile Training Program.\nA qualified faculty member meets the education component of the School of Technology discipline standard through one of three routes:\nPossesses any specialized certifications or credentials required for the class being taught as indicated in the Curriculum of Record (COR) and 5 years directly related work experience in the field that is specifically linked to the competencies listed in the Curriculum of Record (COR); or\nPossesses a current Workplace Specialist License granted by the Indiana Department of Education appropriate to course objectives and directly linked to credentials, certifications, and competencies listed in the Curriculum of Record (COR) And possesses any specialized certifications required for the class being taught as indicated in the Curriculum of Record (COR)\nMust demonstrate ability to promote an environment that reflects the broad backgrounds represented by our students and employees and which every individual feels respected and valued.\nPossesses any specialized certifications required for the class being taught as indicated in the Curriculum of Record (COR).\n\n*Official transcripts are required upon hire and must be submitted directly from the issuing institution to the Office of Human Resources.\nIvy Tech is committed to supporting the well-being, growth, and financial security of our part-time employees.
