As an interim professional, you'll be comfortable establishing priorities quickly and ensuring a clear handover at the end of the assignment.\nWhat you'll be doing:\nLeading project planning and delivery, establishing clear objectives, scope, milestones, responsibilities, and delivery plans.\nMonitoring budgets, resources, and progress, identifying potential delays or overspends and coordinating corrective action.\nManaging risks, issues, and dependencies, maintaining accurate records and escalating matters requiring senior decisions.\nWorking with senior managers, service leads, and delivery partners to agree priorities, resolve challenges, and maintain momentum.\nCoordinating project teams and contributors, ensuring responsibilities are understood and actions are completed within agreed deadlines.\nPreparing project reports and governance documentation, providing clear updates on progress, finances, risks, and decisions required.\nManaging changes to project scope and delivery plans, assessing their impact and securing the appropriate approvals.\nSupporting project completion and handover, documenting outcomes, outstanding actions, lessons learned, and arrangements for ongoing ownership.\nRequirements\nWe're looking for a proactive, organised, and experienced project management professional with strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.\nYou'll be able to work independently, build effective relationships, and provide clear direction in a busy environment.\nYou'll ideally have:\nExperience managing complex projects, with a track record of delivering agreed outcomes against deadlines and budgets.\nExperience working within a local authority, public-sector organisation, or similarly complex environment.\nStrong knowledge of project management methods and controls, including planning, governance, risk management, change control, and reporting.\nExperience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and influencing stakeholders with different priorities.\nStrong financial and analytical skills, including the ability to monitor budgets, assess delivery information, and recommend practical action.\nExcellent communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear reports and explain complex information to different audiences.\nA relevant project management qualification, such as PRINCE2 or an APM qualification, or equivalent practical experience.\nThe ability to establish priorities quickly, manage competing demands, and maintain effective delivery throughout a short-term assignment.\nApplicants should have the right to work in the UK, be available for the stated contract period, and be able to provide references and complete the relevant pre-employment checks.\nWhy Apply\nThis is an opportunity to take on a senior interim assignment with Bradford Metropolitan District Council, applying your project management expertise in a public-sector setting.\nThe role offers varied work across project delivery, stakeholder engagement, governance, and operational coordination, with the opportunity to contribute to improvements in Council services.\nBenefits\nWeekly pay\nOngoing agency support throughout your assignment\nAdditional Information\nCustomer: Bradford Metropolitan District Council\nLocation: Britannia House, Hall Ings, Bradford, BD1 1HX.
