As a Senior Java Developer - AWS Migration, you will design, enhance, migrate, and support business-critical Java applications as they move from on-premises infrastructure to AWS. The role combines hands-on application development with cloud architecture and migration execution. You will collaborate frequently with developers, testers, product managers, infrastructure, security, and operations teams to ensure migrated services are secure, resilient, performant, supportable, and production ready. Willing to work EST (NY) working hours.\nKey Responsibilities\nAnalyze existing Java applications, middleware, interfaces, databases, batch jobs, and infrastructure dependencies and define migration/modernization approaches. \nDesign and implement Java services and APIs using modern Java and Spring technologies, with a focus on modularity, testability, performance, and cloud-native operation. \nRefactor or replatform applications for AWS using containers, managed services, event-driven patterns, or serverless approaches where appropriate. \nBuild and operate REST APIs, microservices, asynchronous integrations, messaging/streaming flows, and scheduled/batch workloads. \nMigrate application configuration, secrets, certificates, database connectivity, file handling, and integrations from on premises patterns to AWS-native or cloud-appropriate patterns. \nImplement automated unit, integration, regression, performance, and deployment testing; support production cutover and post-migration stabilization. \nContinuously evaluate and improve application performance, availability, security posture, logging, monitoring, and cost efficiency. \nReview code and cloud designs, mentor developers, and help establish reusable migration and engineering patterns. \nFollow software development processes, architecture standards, secure coding practices, change controls, and release governance. \nRequired Skills & Experience\nBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience. \n8+ years of professional software development experience, including 5+ years of strong Java development experience in enterprise production systems. \nStrong hands-on Java 11+ experience; Java 17/21 strongly preferred. \n Deep experience with Spring Boot, Spring Framework, RESTful services, dependency injection, data access, exception handling, security, and automated testing. \nStrong knowledge of object-oriented design, design patterns, concurrency, memory/performance considerations, and production troubleshooting. \nStrong experience building microservices and distributed systems; practical understanding of synchronous vs. asynchronous integration patterns. \nHands-on experience with Maven or Gradle, Git-based source control, code reviews, build automation, and CI/CD. \nStrong SQL and relational database experience; ability to analyze query performance, transactions, connection pooling, and database migration impacts. \n Extensive and deep AWS experience meeting all requirements in Section 4, including direct on-premises-to-AWS migration delivery. \n Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to produce technical design documents, migration runbooks, estimates, and implementation plans. \nAbility to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team in a controlled enterprise/banking environment. \nNice-to-Have Skills\nHands-on experience with ECS/Fargate and/or EKS, Docker, Kubernetes, and container migration patterns. \nExperience with Kafka, Amazon MSK, SQS/SNS, EventBridge, or other enterprise messaging/event streaming platforms. \nExperience with AWS DMS/SCT, RDS/Aurora migrations, schema modernization, and large-data cutover strategies. \n Experience with Redis/ElastiCache, OpenSearch, DynamoDB, S3 event patterns, Step Functions, or Lambda. \nPrior experience delivering technology solutions within Capital Markets or Investment Banking is strongly preferred, particularly experience supporting trading, securities, Equities, Fixed Income, or front-to-back processing environments. \nExperience with Jira, Confluence, GitHub, and approved AI-assisted software development tools. \nWhat can we offer you?\nPermanent contract from day one.\n22 working days of annual leave, your birthday off, plus December 24th and 31st as additional days off.\nFlexible compensation package including private health insurance, meal vouchers, childcare vouchers, and transportation benefits.\nFree English classes to help you improve or reinforce your language skills.\nAccess to an extensive employee benefits platform where you can purchase products and services from various sectors at discounted rates, including flights, hotels, fashion, technology, home goods, and more.\nAbout Izertis\nAt Izertis, we drive the digital transformation of companies, organizations, and individuals through tailored, innovative technology solutions that deliver real impact.\nFounded in 1996 and now approaching 30 years of history, Izertis is listed on the Spanish Stock Exchange (BME Continuous Market) and has established itself as one of the 1,000 fastest-growing companies in Europe.\nToday, we are more than 2,300 professionals working from offices across Europe, the Americas, and Africa, with a presence in over 50 countries.
