Held is seeking a highly motivated Building Consultant with a strong focus on delivering exceptional service and superior work product to clientele for our Building Consulting Practice Group in our Medellin, Colombia office. You will be responsible for communicating with clients and any stakeholders related to the claim process, detailed take-off of property condition, estimating, analyzing and reporting for complex projects.\nThe ideal candidate would have a minimum of 2 years of construction budgeting, scheduling, document quality control, mitigation and restoration, fieldwork construction or equivalent experience in the construction industry. The candidate should be eager to understand the methodology for negotiating and settling insurance claims efficiently and be willing to develop their analytical and report-writing skills to contribute to expert reports. Previous experience working with General Contractors in the United States is highly desirable and will set candidates apart.\nJob Responsibilities:\nAssisting in client communication and maintaining positive relationships with project representatives.\nPerform field inspections and necessary site visits.\nAssisting in estimating small to large projects, with a willingness to learn and develop proficiency in using tools like Xactimate, Cotality and RSMeans.\nAssist with quality assurance reviews of construction estimates, identifying inconsistencies, missing information, and items requiring further evaluation.\nMotivated to develop in-depth knowledge of water restoration and structural drying, with the goal of delivering expert-level consulting services.\nAssist in developing Period of Repair (POR) schedules based on property damage and repair requirements.\nDocument review and analysis of schedules, contracts, change orders, correspondence, daily reports, meeting minutes, monthly reports, and any additional documents relating to a project.\nExcellent communication skills to ensure deadlines and cost targets are met.\n Ideal candidates exhibit the following attributes and background:\nCivil Engineering bachelor’s or Construction Management degree from an accredited college or university, or industry level experience.\n2 years minimum construction budgeting, restoration, scheduling, and some project management experience.\nFieldwork experience on at least one construction project.\nBilingual, with strong written and spoken English proficiency.\nKnowledge of programming languages (Python, Visual Basic, JavaScript, C#) and data analysis using Power BI will be considered a plus.\nProficient in Xactimate, Cotality or RS Means estimating is highly desirable.\nProficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.\nWillingness to travel overnight, out-of-state, or abroad - Capability to travel between Colombia and the United States.\nStrong project management skills.\nStrong analysis and critical thinking skills.\nDeadline and detail-oriented.\nStrong independent work ethic and leadership qualities.\n Some of the Benefits We Have Include\nJ.S.
