This is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial, highly driven person with a well-rounded skill set to join the Forensic Engineering & Architecture team, whose responsibilities extend beyond those of traditional Mechanical Engineers. The ideal person for this role will need to not only have a strong grasp of Mechanical Engineering, but also be flexible and a strategic thinker able to take on a variety of tasks.\nThe job responsibilities include:\nConduct field inspections and loss analysis, testing, and data collection\nPrepare technical reports detailing the cause of damage/failure, damage observed, and test results\nPerform desk reviews and field assessments of property loss to develop repair scope\nWork with the insured and contractors to reach agreement on the scope of repairs\nReview and analyze building codes and industry standards, working with code officials as needed, to identify system requirements\nPresent analysis and assessment findings to colleagues and clients\nConduct research and develop technical topics for publication\nManage multiple project assignments and execute them on time and within budget.\nSupport in retention and development of client relationships.\n Required Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Master level is a plus.\nRegistered Professional Engineer with Canadian provinces (P.Eng.)\n3 - 8 years of mechanical equipment/system design or production/construction experience\nForensic, failure analysis, or troubleshooting experience.\nExperience in evaluating/maintaining mechanical systems and loss/condition assessment of the components (such as Plumbing, Piping Fixtures, Fire Sprinkler, HVAC systems) used in residential, commercial, or industrial facilities.\nExperience with failure analysis and loss assessment of the components (Heat Exchanger, Boiler, Turbine, Pressure Vessel, Underground Pipeline, Cooling Tower) used in commercial or industrial facilities\nAnalytical and problem-solving skills\nStrong verbal, writing, and interpersonal skills\nComputer skills (including Word, Excel and PowerPoint)\nAmbitious, self-motivated, hands-on, and team oriented\nA desire to learn, excel and grow with us and within the profession\nAble to travel to sites when necessary\nPreferred Qualifications\nP.Eng in Vancouver or Calgary preferred\nExperience in Machinery, Equipment Loss Assessment and Conducted equipment loss investigation for the industrial machineries used in manufacturing facilities and heavy-duty machines used for construction and transportation.\nExperience in failure analysis and loss assessment of Electro-Mechanical Instruments & Systems.\nIt is an advantage to be involved in engineering projects and consulted on major and complex insurance losses.\nPhysical and Mental Job Qualifications\nMust be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times. \nMust be able to travel to various project sites and conduct field investigations.\nMust be able to work in hot and cold environments, both indoors and outdoors.\nPhysically able to climb, stand, walk, kneel, and crouch for extended periods of time\n Some of the Benefits We Have Include\nJ.S.
