This role manages assigned commodities or suppliers, executes purchase orders, resolves supply issues, and supports sourcing and cost-reduction initiatives in a fast-paced electronics manufacturing environment.\nBuyer II operates with moderate autonomy and supports cross-functional teams including planning, engineering, quality, and suppliers.\nKey Responsibilities\nExecute purchasing activities for assigned materials, components, or commodities to meet production, inventory, and customer requirements\nCreate, review, and manage purchase orders in accordance with MRP signals, contracts, and Jabil policies\nCommunicate with suppliers on delivery schedules, shortages, price discrepancies, and quality issues\nMonitor supplier performance (OTD, responsiveness, quoting accuracy) and escalate risks as required\nSupport sourcing initiatives including RFQs, cost analysis, and supplier comparisons\nParticipate in cost-reduction, VAVE, and supply-base optimization initiatives\nMaintain accurate procurement data in ERP/MRP systems (typically SAP/Oracle-based systems)\nWork closely with planners to resolve material shortages and prevent line-down situations\nSupport supplier onboarding, qualification, and compliance with Jabil’s ethical and regulatory standards\nEnsure compliance with Jabil procedures, SOX controls, and customer requirements\nAssist in continuous improvement projects and supply chain KPIs\nMay provide day-to-day guidance to Buyer I or Junior Buyers\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)\nTypically 3-5 years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, or materials management\nExperience in electronics manufacturing / EMS environment preferred\nWorking knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar)\nStrong understanding of purchasing, logistics, and inventory concepts\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience managing electronic components (PCBA, mechanicals, cables, packaging, etc.)\nInternational sourcing or global supplier exposure\nExperience supporting cost-reduction and supplier negotiations\nKey Skills & Competencies\nSupply chain execution and problem solving\nSupplier communication and relationship management\nData analysis and attention to detail\nAbility to work in a fast-paced, high-change manufacturing environment\nStrong communication and cross-functional teamwork\nJabil Competencies (Typical)\nAdherence to Jabil Code of Conduct and Ethics\nCustomer focus\nContinuous improvement mindset\nResults-driven and accountability\nBE AWARE OF FRAUD: When applying for a job at Jabil you will be contacted via correspondence through our official job portal with a jabil.com e-mail address; direct phone call from a member of the Jabil team; or direct e-mail with a jabil.com e-mail address.
