Database Analyst
Job Summary:**
The Database Analyst at Jabil, Inc. will be responsible for the design, development, maintenance, and optimization of our database systems, ensuring data integrity, security, and accessibility to support critical business operations and analytical needs.
Job Responsibilities:**
* Design, implement, and maintain complex relational databases, including schema definition, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
* Develop and execute SQL queries for data extraction, manipulation, and reporting, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
* Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies (indexing, query tuning, etc.).
* Perform routine database administration tasks such as backups, restores, replication, and security management.
* Collaborate with application developers and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into effective database solutions.
* Troubleshoot database-related issues, including performance problems, connectivity errors, and data discrepancies.
* Develop and maintain documentation for database designs, procedures, and best practices.
* Ensure data quality and integrity through regular audits and implementation of data validation rules.
* Participate in capacity planning and performance testing to ensure scalability and reliability of database systems.
* Stay current with emerging database technologies and recommend appropriate solutions to enhance system capabilities.
Job Qualifications:**
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
* 2+ years of experience as a Database Analyst, Database Administrator, or similar role.
* Proficiency in SQL (Structured Query Language) and experience with relational database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
* Experience with database design, development, and optimization techniques.
* Familiarity with database administration tasks including backup, recovery, and security.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Experience with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes is a plus.
* Knowledge of cloud-based database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database) is a plus.
