The manager owns people leadership, priorities, resource planning and execution accountability while partnering with technical leads who retain discipline-specific technical ownership.\nThis role supports both mature products and design-partner engagements where requirements, interfaces, and configurations may evolve. Success requires balancing technical risk, workload, and program priorities while maintaining disciplined CAD, BOM, PLM, change-control, baselining and release practices.\nWhat will you do?\nLeadership & Engineering Execution\nLead, coach and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team, including senior and lead-level individual contributors, across product development, NPI, production and sustaining activities.\nSet clear priorities, expectations and accountability; manage staffing, development, workload and capacity across multiple projects and product platforms.\nPartner with technical leads and program stakeholders to establish realistic schedules, resource plans and deliverables based on product maturity, complexity, technical uncertainty, and dependencies.\nMaintain clear accountability between engineering management and discipline technical leads: management owns people, priorities, capacity and execution; technical leads retain appropriate discipline-specific technical authority.\nFacilitate design reviews and escalations, resolve cross-discipline issues, and communicate technical, schedule and resource risks with clear mitigation plans.\nDesign & Configuration Discipline\nDrive consistent engineering standards and configuration discipline across CAD models, drawings, electrical schematics, BOMs, technical documentation, and PLM records.\nMaintain alignment and traceability among CAD structures, engineering BOMs, released documentation, and product configurations throughout the lifecycle.\nStrengthen PLM/configuration governance, including revision management, baselining, effectivity, lifecycle states and release readiness.\nEnsure disciplined ECR/ECN and change-control execution, so engineering changes are reviewed, approved, traceable, and compatible with released configurations and production needs.\nEstablish reliable release practices from evolving engineering inputs through configuration-controlled, production-ready deliverables, and continuously improve data quality, documentation and engineering workflows.\nCross-Functional & Lifecycle Support\nPartner across Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Technical Program Management and Product Management to resolve design, configuration, manufacturability and release issues.\nSupport prototype builds, NPI, production ramp, sustaining engineering and significant design or field issues, including root-cause and corrective action activities.\nRepresent Design & Configuration priorities, risks, resource needs and execution status in customer, business and technical reviews as appropriate.\nHow will you get here?\nEducation\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology or another relevant technical discipline. A suitable combination of education, technical experience, and training may be considered.\nExperience\n8+ years of engineering experience supporting complex electromechanical, industrial, infrastructure or similarly complex products, with 3+ years of engineering leadership, people management or responsibility for multidisciplinary engineering teams.\nExperience leading experienced engineers or technical leads across multiple priorities and lifecycle phases, including product development, NPI, production and/or sustaining engineering.\nExperience with design reviews, CAD/BOM alignment, PLM/configuration management, engineering change control, baselining, product release and technical issue resolution.\nDemonstrated cross-functional experience with mechanical, electrical, program management, manufacturing, quality and supply-chain organizations.\nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities\nStrong people leadership, coaching, communication and cross-functional influence, including the ability to lead senior technical contributors without displacing discipline-specific ownership.\nBroad understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering interfaces and their relationship to CAD, BOMs, PLM, and configuration-controlled product data.\nStrong understanding of product lifecycle, engineering change, configuration management, baselining, release and traceability practices.\nAbility to translate program objectives into priorities, resource plans and deliverables; assess technical, schedule and capacity risks; and drive mitigation and escalation.\nEffective technical judgment in fast-moving, geographically distributed environments with evolving requirements and interfaces. Ability to travel as required.\nPreferred Qualifications\nMaster’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Management or related discipline.\nExperience leading multidisciplinary teams spanning mechanical design, electrical design, CAD and PLM/configuration, including senior engineers or technical leads.\nExperience with critical infrastructure, data center equipment, cooling products, electrical power-distribution equipment, or similarly complex electromechanical products.\nFamiliarity with Creo and/or SolidWorks; EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical and/or Edge Electrical; and PLM/configuration-controlled engineering environments.\nFamiliarity with applicable IEC, UL or related product standards; experience with NPI, global manufacturing operations, team scaling or project/program management is a plus.\nThe pay range for this role is $121,300 - $218,300.
