About the Role

We are looking for a Regional Database Administrator (DBA) to join our regional IT organization and take ownership of database operations across multiple sites in the region.

The role has a strong hands-on focus on monitoring, maintaining, optimizing, and automating enterprise-critical and local database platforms, with special emphasis on Jabil Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).

You will work closely with Site IT, regional IT, application development teams and global stakeholders to ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of business-critical databases.

Key Responsibilities

Database Operations & Monitoring

·Monitor, maintain, and support Microsoft SQL Server , PostgreSQL, aws Redshift environments (on-premises and cloud-hosted)

·Ensure database availability, performance, and reliability in line with SLA and performance requirements

Maintenance & Automation

·Design, implement, and maintain database maintenance jobs (backup, restore, patching, indexing, housekeeping)

·Maintain Data lifecycle and introduce data archiving, purging process

·Proactively identify opportunities for automation and standardization

·Improve operational efficiency through scripting and tooling

·Ensure Database security compliance, lead Database updates and migrations

Performance Optimization

·Analyze and optimize database performance, including:

o Query tuning

o Index strategies

oResource utilization

·Identify and resolve bottlenecks in high-load environments

·Support capacity planning and growth forecasting

MES Database Focus

·Act as database subject-matter expert for MES systems

·Ensure MES databases have the required resources, performance, and stability

·Work closely with application and MES teams to:

oOptimize complex queries

o Support application changes

oPrevent production issues

oReview Database changes

Governance & Best Practices

·Enforce database best practices for security, backup, recovery, and compliance

·Support audits and ensure adherence to corporate IT standards

·Contribute to documentation, runbooks, and knowledge sharing

Project and support involvements

·Co-work with product teams on Database design throughout on the SDLC process

·Maintain Database projects in git repositories

·Build and maintain CICD pipelines for the Database projects

·Actively participate in Incident Management and Problem management within IT SLA

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills

·Strong experience as a Database Administrator in enterprise environments

·Proven hands-on expertise with:

oMicrosoft SQL Server

oPostgreSQL

oAWS Redshift

·Solid understanding of:

oBuilding and optimizing SQL queries

oDatabase design

o High availability and disaster recovery concepts

oPerformance tuning and troubleshooting

oBackup and recovery strategies

·Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)

·Scripting experience (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, SQL, Python) is a plus

Professional Experience

·Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science

·At least3 years of experience supporting mission-critical production systems

·Background in manufacturing, MES, or industrial IT environments is a strong advantage

·Ability to work across multiple sites and cultures in a regional role

Soft Skills

·Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset

·Proactive, improvement-oriented approach

·Good written and verbal communication skills in English

·Comfortable working independently and as part of a regional/global team

Nice to Have

·Experience with:

Посада передбачає активну роботу з моніторингом, супроводом, оптимізацією та автоматизацією корпоративних і локальних платформ баз даних, з особливим акцентом на системи Jabil MES.

Основні обов’язки

• Операційне управління та моніторинг баз даних

• Моніторинг, підтримка та супровід середовищ Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, AWS Redshift (on-prem та cloud).

• Забезпечення доступності, продуктивності та надійності баз даних відповідно до SLA та вимог бізнесу.

Обслуговування та автоматизація:

• Проєктування, впровадження й підтримка задач обслуговування баз даних (backup, restore, patching, індексація, housekeeping).

• Управління життєвим циклом даних, упровадження процесів архівації та очищення.

• Виявлення можливостей для автоматизації та стандартизації.

• Підвищення операційної ефективності за допомогою скриптів та інструментів.

• Забезпечення відповідності вимогам безпеки, проведення оновлень та міграцій баз даних.

Оптимізація продуктивності

• Аналіз і оптимізація продуктивності баз даних, зокрема:

  • оптимізація SQL-запитів;

  • стратегія індексів;

  • використання ресурсів.

• Виявлення та усунення вузьких місць у високонавантажених середовищах.

• Підтримка планування ємностей і прогнозування росту.

Фокус на MES-бази даних

• Виконання ролі subject-matter expert з баз даних для MES-систем.

• Забезпечення необхідних ресурсів, стабільності та продуктивності MES-баз даних.

• Співпраця з MES та application-командами для:

  • оптимізації складних запитів;

  • підтримки змін у застосунках;

  • попередження production-інцидентів;

  • рев’ю змін у базах даних.

Управління та best practices

• Дотримання best practices з безпеки, резервного копіювання, відновлення та комплаєнсу.

• Підтримка аудитів і дотримання корпоративних ІТ-стандартів.

• Ведення документації, runbooks і обмін знаннями.

Проєкти та підтримка

• Співпраця з продуктними командами над дизайном баз даних у межах SDLC.

• Ведення database-проєктів у Git-репозиторіях.

• Побудова та підтримка CI/CD-пайплайнів для database-проєктів.

• Активна участь в Incident та Problem Management відповідно до SLA.

Вимоги до кандидатів:

Технічні навички

• Досвід роботи Database Administrator у корпоративному середовищі.

• Практичний досвід з:

  • Microsoft SQL Server

  • PostgreSQL

  • AWS Redshift

• Ґрунтовні знання:

  • SQL і оптимізації запитів;

  • дизайну баз даних;

  • high availability та disaster recovery;

  • performance tuning;

  • стратегій backup та recovery.

• Досвід роботи з cloud-платформами (AWS, Azure).
