Job Summary
The Sr Automation Engineer - Warehouse Automation Software, Integration & Digital Twin is responsible for designing, analyzing, modifying, and integrating advanced robotics, automated material handling technologies, and digital twin simulations to optimize warehouse operations. The individual will oversee warehouse equipment and software integration, developing preventative maintenance strategies and implementing rapid interim solutions for system disruptions or safety risks. Acting as a technical lead, this role drives system reliability improvements, enforces configuration controls, and ensures complex software-hardware interfaces operate in accordance with standard operating procedures.
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in automation software architecture, control systems, and predictive digital twin modeling. This individual should demonstrate a proven track record of leading complex system integrations, mentoring junior team members, and leveraging data-driven analytics to maximize operational throughput, safety, and system availability.
Knowledge and Skills
Expert knowledge of warehouse automation systems, control architectures, robotics, and digital twin simulation tools.
Strong proficiency in software-to-hardware integration, data visualization, and statistical modeling for system performance optimization.
Demonstrated ability to lead complex root-cause investigations and implement robust corrective actions across automated warehouse environments.
Excellent technical writing skills for developing test plans, validation strategies, and precise system configuration documentation.
Proven capability to manage technical scope, mitigate integration risks, and drive priorities across cross-functional engineering teams.
Strong collaborative and communication skills to institutionalize best practices, standardize protocols, and ensure operational readiness.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Systems Engineering, Robotics, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline required.
5-8 years of experience in warehouse automation engineering, system integration, software controls, or digital twin development.
Demonstrated experience developing, testing, and validating preventative maintenance plans and emergency safety protocols for automated equipment.
Proven track record of managing software and engineering change controls in accordance with standard operating procedures.
Experience defining system-level test plans and driving data-driven continuous improvement initiatives.
Previous leadership, cross-functional project coordination, or engineering mentorship experience preferred.
