This role will be responsible for architecting scalable automation frameworks, establishing validation methodologies, driving CI/CD integration, and ensuring firmware quality throughout the product lifecycle.\nThe ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in OpenBMC, firmware validation, Python automation, Robot Framework, server management technologies, and test infrastructure development. This position requires strong technical leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to drive automation transformation initiatives across multiple projects and customer programs.\nHow Will You Make an Impact?\nAs a Lead Firmware Test Automation Engineer, you will:\nDefine and drive automation strategies for OpenBMC validation activities.\nLead the design and implementation of scalable automation frameworks and validation infrastructure.\nImprove firmware quality, reliability, and release efficiency through automation.\nDrive technical decisions related to validation architecture, test coverage, and CI/CD integration.\nPartner with firmware development teams to improve product quality and accelerate delivery.\nGuide and mentor automation engineers while establishing engineering best practices.\nAct as the technical lead for OpenBMC validation initiatives across multiple programs and customer engagements.\nKey Responsibilities\nAutomation Strategy & Leadership\nDefine and execute the OpenBMC automation roadmap and validation strategy.\nLead automation architecture and framework development efforts.\nEstablish automation standards, coding improve feature testability and quality.\nSupport project planning, effort estimation, and risk mitigation activities.\nPartner with customers on validation requirements and quality objectives.\nTechnical Skills & Qualifications\nRequired Technical Expertise\nStrong hands-on experience in OpenBMC validation, automation, and debugging.\nExpert proficiency in Python and Robot Framework for test automation framework development.\nExperience automating and validating Redfish, IPMI, PLDM, MCTP, and SPDM interfaces.\nStrong understanding of OpenBMC architecture, including D-Bus, BMCWeb, Entity Manager, phosphor services, Virtual Media, Firmware Update, and User Management.\nExperience validating OpenBMC platforms based on AST2500, AST2600, and AST2700 BMC SoCs.\nStrong knowledge of server platform architecture, BIOS-BMC interaction, inventory management, sensor monitoring, power and thermal management.\nHands-on experience with Linux, shell scripting, networking, system services, and log analysis.\nExperience with firmware validation including functional, regression, stress, performance, security, and interoperability testing.\nStrong debugging and root-cause analysis skills for firmware, software, and hardware integration issues.\nAutomation & DevOps\nExperience designing and maintaining scalable automation frameworks.\nHands-on experience with Jenkins, Git, GitHub/GitLab, Gerrit, and CI/CD pipelines.\nExperience developing automation for firmware deployment, provisioning, test execution, log collection, and reporting.\nFamiliarity with test management and defect tracking tools such as JIRA.\nLeadership Competencies\nAbility to define validation strategies and automation roadmaps.\nProven experience leading automation initiatives and improving test coverage.\nStrong planning, estimation, execution, and risk management skills.\nExperience mentoring engineers and driving engineering best practices.\nExcellent communication, validation, automation, or embedded systems testing.\n5+ years of hands-on BMC/OpenBMC validation and automation experience.\nProven experience leading automation initiatives and validation
