The role focuses on sheet metal enclosures, welded frames, skids, piping systems, and mechanical assemblies supporting cooling, power, and infrastructure products.\nThis position serves as a technical expert in CAD modeling, drafting, and manufacturing documentation, ensuring designs are accurate, manufacturable, configuration-controlled, and fully aligned with released product data throughout concept, NPI, production, and sustaining phases.\nKey Responsibilities\nMechanical Design & CAD Execution\nDevelop and maintaindetailed 3D CAD models and assemblies using SolidWorks and/or Creo.\n\nCreate fabrication, assembly, and installation drawings for sheet metal components, welded structures, skids, piping systems, enclosures, and mechanical assemblies.\n\nProduce complete drawing packages including dimensions, tolerances, bills of material, weld specifications, and installation requirements.\n\nTranslate engineering requirements into accurateCAD models and manufacturing documentation.\n\nMaintain model quality, drawing accuracy, and configuration consistency throughout the product lifecycle.\n\nSheet Metal, Structural & Piping Design\nDevelop detailed sheet metal designs including bends, flat patterns, formed features, hardware, and fabrication requirements.\n\nCreate welded frames, enclosures, and skid designs using established manufacturing and fabrication practices.\n\nGenerate weldment drawings, cut lists, weld callouts, and assembly documentation.\n\nCreate and maintainpiping layouts and routing models for cooling and process fluid systems.\n\nCoordinate mechanical layouts to ensure manufacturability, assembly efficiency, and serviceability.\n\nManufacturing Documentation & Product Release\nProduce production-ready manufacturing drawings with appropriate GD&T, tolerances, material specifications, finishes, and inspection requirements.\n\nSupport engineering changes through updates to CAD models, drawings, BOMs, and released documentation.\n\nEnsure alignment between CAD models, drawings, BOMs, and PLM records.\n\nSupport prototype builds, pilot production, and sustaining engineering by rapidly implementing documentation updates and design revisions.\n\nMaintain compliance with company CAD standards, drafting practices, and release procedures.\n\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nPartner with mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to support product development and production.\n\nParticipate in design reviews, release readiness reviews, and engineering change activities.\n\nResolve drawing, documentation, and manufacturability issues identifiedduring fabrication and assembly.\n\nContribute to continuous improvement of CAD standards, modeling methods, and documentation practices.\n\nRequired Qualifications\nAssociate's degree, Technical Degree, Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, Drafting Technology, or equivalent professional experience.\n\n8+ years of hands-on mechanical design and CAD experience supporting complex assemblies and manufactured products.\n\nExpert proficiencywith Creo and/or SolidWorks.\n\nStrong experience developing manufacturing drawings, weldments, BOMs, and fabrication documentation.\n\nWorking knowledge of GD&T, tolerancing, and manufacturing processes.\n\nExperience supporting configuration-controlled designs and product release processes.\n\nAbility to independently execute complex design and documentation work with minimal supervision.\n\nPreferred Experience\nExperience designing sheet metal components, welded frames, skids, and enclosure assemblies.\n\nExperience detailing piping systems, tubing assemblies, valves, pumps, fittings, and mechanical routing.\n\nExperience supporting cooling systems, CDUs, chillers, power equipment, or industrial infrastructure products.\n\nFamiliarity with PLM systems, engineering change processes, and product lifecycle management.\n\nExperience supporting NPI and sustaining engineering within manufacturing environments.\n\nExperience working directly with fabrication shops, suppliers, and production teams.\n\nCore Competencies\nExpert CAD modeling and drafting execution\n\nManufacturing drawing excellence\n\nSheet metal and weldment detailing\n\nPiping and mechanical layout development\n\nConfiguration-controlled documentation\n\nAttention to detail and documentation accuracy\n\nManufacturing-focused design practices\n\nCross-functional collaboration and technical communication\n\nThe pay range for this role is $105,100 - $189,200.
