Job Summary
The Lead Quality Technician at Jabil Inc. plays a crucial role in ensuring product quality and process integrity. This position involves leading quality inspection activities, troubleshooting quality issues, and supporting the implementation of quality management systems to meet customer specifications and company standards.
Job Responsibilities
Lead and supervise a team of Quality Technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
Perform complex inspections and tests on incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products using various measurement tools and equipment.
Identify, analyze, and troubleshoot quality defects, non-conformances, and process deviations, implementing effective corrective actions.
Collaborate with engineering, production, and other departments to resolve quality issues and improve manufacturing processes.
Develop and implement quality control plans, inspection procedures, and work instructions.
Conduct internal audits and support external audits to ensure compliance with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
Collect and analyze quality data, generate reports, and present findings to management.
Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., 8D, FMEA).
Train and mentor junior Quality Technicians on best practices and quality standards.
Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all quality-related activities.
Job Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in a technical field (e.g., Quality Assurance, Engineering Technology) preferred.
5+ years of experience in a manufacturing quality role, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory capacity.
Strong understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
Proficiency in using various quality tools and techniques (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM, SPC, Six Sigma methodologies).
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Experience with ERP/MES systems is a plus.
