Our commitment extends beyond business success as we strive to build sustainable processes that minimize environmental impact and foster vibrant and diverse communities around the globe.JOB SUMMARY\nThe Liquid Cooling Systems Engineer serves as the internal subject matter expert (SME) for liquid cooling technologies supporting Jabil’s manufacturing and deployment of data center hardware, including rack and server platforms.\nThis role provides technical guidance on cooling system design, process standards, and implementation strategies to support scalable, high-reliability production. You will evaluate emerging cooling technologies, components, and suppliers to enable future product development and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.\nPartnering with systems, electrical, and software engineering teams, you will ensure effective integration of liquid cooling solutions into complex hardware systems. Additionally, you will mentor junior engineers and support cross-functional execution to deliver high-performance data center products.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nOptimize cooling and fluid handling processes to improve efficiency, reliability, safety, and sustainability.\nLead the engineering, optimization, and scaling of liquid cooling processes supporting the manufacturing of data center rack and server solutions.\nIdentify and resolve bottlenecks in production and cooling workflows.\nDesign, configure, and monitor process performance during manufacturing and operations.\nDevelop and maintain detailed engineering process documentation, including P&IDs, schematics, and layouts (pumps, compressors, chillers, CDUs, sensors, valves).\n\nCollaborate cross-functionally with systems, electrical, and software teams to ensure seamless integration of cooling into complex server and rack-level architectures.\nDrive engineering improvements to enhance thermal performance, system reliability, and manufacturing efficiency, while reducing energy consumption and operating costs.\nMonitor key parameters (pressure, temperature, flow rate, glycol concentration) via BMS.\n\nUse data-driven methods to predict failures, optimize system performance, and support preventative maintenance strategies.\nDevelop and manage maintenance plans for process assets.\nCollaborate with EHS on SOPs for safety, leak mitigation, waste disposal, and fluid handling.\nConduct CTQ analyses and risk assessments.\n\nOwn lifecycle management of cooling subsystems and process equipment, from development through production and deployment.\nSupport commissioning and validation of new systems and upgrades.\nJOB QUALIFICATIONS\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or related field.\n\n10+ years of hands-on engineering experience with liquid cooling, chilled water, or glycol-based systems in product or manufacturing environments.\nExperience supporting data center hardware, server platforms, or high-density compute systems, or similarly complex, high-reliability engineered systems (pharma, food & beverage, distillery).\nStrong knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer.\nProficiency in process control systems, instrumentation, and sensors.\nExperience with DMAIC, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.\nFamiliarity with quality systems (ISO 9001) and regulatory compliance affecting engineering-driven process control.\n\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable engineering improvements.\nAbility to drive cross-functional change using data.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience with data center liquid cooling technologies, including immersion or direct-to-chip liquid cooling.\nKnowledge of OCP and ASHRAE standards related to data center cooling.\nFamiliarity with BMS and SCADA, or similar monitoring and control platforms for cooling systems.\nSix Sigma or Lean certification with demonstrated application in manufacturing engineering environments.\nExperience with CFD or thermal simulation tools.\nBE AWARE OF FRAUD: When applying for a job at Jabil you will be contacted via correspondence through our official job portal with a jabil.com e-mail address; direct phone call from a member of the Jabil team; or direct e-mail with a jabil.com e-mail address.
