Constructed in 1979 the location employs approximately 1,000 employees and contractors manufacturing orthopedic nails and screws along with neurological products for joint reconstruction, trauma, spine, sports medicine and other uses.\nJOB SUMMARY:\nThe Engineering Technician II provides hands-on technical support for precision manufacturing equipment and processes, with a primary focus on Star Swiss lathes equipped with FANUC controls and FANUC robotic automation. Team members receive guidance, training, and support while building the confidence to troubleshoot issues and take greater ownership of their work. We value talented individuals who ask questions, bring forward practical ideas, and identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, and manufacturing performance while following established documentation and procedural requirements.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nProvides hands-on technical support for Star Swiss lathes, FANUC controllers, FANUC robots, and related manufacturing equipment.\nTroubleshoots machine, tooling, programming, automation, and process issues; identifies practical corrections and escalates issues when appropriate.\nPerforms machine setup support, adjustments, recovery activities, basic repairs, and verification testing in accordance with approved procedures and training.\nReads and works with CNC G-code and demonstrates awareness of FANUC Macro B programming, including variables, logic, and macro calls used in established programs.\nExecutes assigned technical tasks independently after objectives, priorities, and applicable procedures are defined; seeks clarification when requirements are unclear.\nSupports equipment and process improvements by collecting data, documenting observations, testing approved changes, and providing practical feedback to Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Maintenance.\nCompletes production and quality documentation accurately, thoroughly, and on time while following required review and approval processes.\nFollows approved procedures and change-control requirements; does not bypass required steps or take shortcuts that could affect safety, quality, compliance, or product integrity.\nSupports manufacturing using company provided tooling with troubleshooting, equipment upgrades, retrofits, setups, methods development, preventive maintenance activities, and implementation of approved process parameters.\nCommunicates equipment status, troubleshooting findings, completed work, risks, and follow-up needs clearly to affected teams and shifts.\nAssists with trials, inspections, measurements, capability studies, and validation activities under established protocols or direction.\nSupports updating technical documentation including setup sheets, work instructions, troubleshooting guides, maintenance records, and training materials.\nMaintains an organized work area and handles tools, gauges, components, and records in accordance with site requirements.\nApplies basic Lean manufacturing and structured problem-solving methods to assigned improvement activities.\nReviews completed projects for accuracy, clarity and completeness.\nEnsures projects are compliant with all local, regional and national regulatory requirements/codes and controls.\nSupports all company safety and quality programs and initiatives.\nMay perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.\nJob Qualifications and Knowledge Requirements:\nHigh School Diploma, Associate degree, technical certificate, apprenticeship, or equivalent combination of relevant education and hands-on experience preferred.\nTypically requires two or more years of relevant technical experience in CNC machining, equipment support, automation, maintenance, or a related manufacturing environment.\nExperience supporting Swiss-style CNC lathes is strongly preferred; experience with Star machines and FANUC controls is highly desirable.\nExperience with FANUC robots or comparable industrial robotic automation is preferred.\nWorking knowledge of CNC G-code and awareness of FANUC Macro B programming concepts are preferred.\nDemonstrates strong mechanical aptitude, systematic troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and sound technical judgment within the scope of the role.\nDemonstrates initiative, ownership, and the ability to plan and complete assigned work with limited supervision.\nDemonstrates patience and discipline when completing documentation, investigations, approvals, and other required manufacturing processes.\nExperience in medical device or another regulated manufacturing industry is preferred;
