This individual will be responsible for driving mechanical design solutions, and ensuring products are robust, manufacturable, cost-effective, and aligned with customer requirements.\nThe ideal candidate combines systems-level thinking with hands-on engineering expertise and has a proven track record of transforming concepts into successful commercial products.\nKey Responsibilities\nProduct Design & Development\nLead the design and development of mechanical systems, assemblies, and components from concept through production.\nGenerate and review 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.\nDevelop creative design solutions that meet performance, reliability, cost, and aesthetic requirements.\nConduct engineering analysis, simulations, and testing to validate product performance.\nSupport prototype builds and design iterations based on test results and customer feedback.\nProductization & Manufacturing Support\nEnsure designs are optimized for manufacturing, assembly, quality, and serviceability.\nApply Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design for Cost (DFC) principles.\nCollaborate with manufacturing, suppliers, and sourcing teams to transition products from prototype to production.\nSupport pilot builds, production validation, and launch activities.\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, cost reduction, and product reliability.\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nWork closely with electrical, software, industrial design, quality, and manufacturing teams.\nParticipate in design reviews and technical decision-making processes.\nInterface with customers and stakeholders to understand requirements and communicate technical solutions.\nMentor junior engineers and contribute to technical growth within the organization.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.\n7+ years of experience in mechanical product development.\nExperience serving as a lead mechanical engineer or mechanical architect on complex product development programs.\nProficiency with CAD software such as Creo, SolidWorks, or NX.\nStrong understanding of GD&T, tolerance analysis, DFM, DFA, material selection, and manufacturing processes.\nExperience developing products through the full lifecycle from concept to production.\nStrong problem-solving, communication, and technical leadership skills.\nPreferred Qualifications\nMaster's degree in Mechanical Engineering.\nExperience with consumer electronics, industrial equipment, automation systems, displays, or medical devices.\nFamiliarity with FMEA, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and reliability engineering practices.\nExperience working with global suppliers and contract manufacturers.\nKnowledge of PLM and change management systems.\nDesired Skills & Competencies\nMechanical Architecture\nProduct Design\nProduct Development\nProductization\nSystems Engineering\nDesign for Manufacturing (DFM)\nDesign for Assembly (DFA)\nCost Optimization\nRisk Management\nTechnical Leadership\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nBE AWARE OF FRAUD: When applying for a job at Jabil you will be contacted via correspondence through our official job portal with a jabil.com e-mail address; direct phone call from a member of the Jabil team; or direct e-mail with a jabil.com e-mail address.
