This role focuses on product performance, yield improvement, quality, reliability, manufacturability, and cost optimization. The Product Engineer works closely with Design, Process, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Customer teams to ensure successful product delivery and continuous improvement.\nExperience in Photonics, Optical Communications, Semiconductor, or High-Tech Manufacturing industries is preferred.\nKey Responsibilities\nProduct Ownership & Lifecycle Management\nLead product activities from development, qualification, and NPI through high-volume manufacturing.\nDrive successful product ramp-up and manufacturing readiness.\nMonitor product health, performance, quality, and production metrics throughout the product lifecycle.\nCoordinate engineering changes and product transfer activities.\nYield & Continuous Improvement\nAnalyze production data to identify yield loss mechanisms and process improvement opportunities.\nLead root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).\nDrive yield improvement, defect reduction, cycle time reduction, and cost optimization initiatives.\nUtilize statistical and analytical tools to improve product performance and manufacturing efficiency.\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nWork closely with Design, Process, Manufacturing, Test, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to resolve technical challenges.\nSupport customer technical inquiries and qualification requirements when required.\nParticipate in design reviews and provide manufacturability, reliability, and product performance feedback.\nLead cross-functional projects to improve product robustness and production efficiency.\nQualifications\nEducation\nBachelor's or Master's Degree in:Electrical & Electronic Engineering\nMechanical Engineering\nPhotonics / Optical Engineering\nPhysics\nMaterials Engineering\nSemiconductor Engineering\nOr a related engineering discipline\n\nExperience\n3-10 years of experience in Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, or related roles.\nExperience in high-volume manufacturing environments is preferred.\nPhotonics, optical communications, semiconductor, electronics, or advanced manufacturing experience is advantageous.\nPreferred Technical Experience\nGeneral Product Engineering\nProduct lifecycle management (NPI to sustaining)\nYield analysis and improvement\nRoot cause analysis and problem solving\nStatistical Process Control (SPC)\nFMEA, DOE, 8D, CAPA\nReliability and qualification methodologies\nData analytics using Excel, JMP, Minitab, SQL, Python, or MATLAB\nPhotonics/Optical Industry (Preferred)\nExperience with any of the following is a plus:\nSilicon Photonics (SiPh)\nOptical transceivers and optical modules\nFiber optic components and assemblies\nPhotonic Integrated Circuits (PIC)\nOptical communication products\nData center networking products\nLasers, photodetectors, modulators, and optical engines\nUnderstanding of optical parameters such as:\nInsertion Loss (IL)\nReturn Loss (RL)\nPolarization Dependent Loss (PDL)\nOptical Power\nExtinction Ratio (ER)\nWavelength Performance\nKey Competencies\nStrong analytical and troubleshooting skills.\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.\nAbility to work effectively in cross-functional and global teams.\nStrong project management and organizational skills.\nProactive, self-motivated, and results-oriented.\nContinuous improvement mindset.\nBE AWARE OF FRAUD: When applying for a job at Jabil you will be contacted via correspondence through our official job portal with a jabil.com e-mail address; direct phone call from a member of the Jabil team; or direct e-mail with a jabil.com e-mail address.
