will you do?\nLeadership & Team Development\nRecruit, interview, and hire Purchasing Supervisors and Planner/Buyers.\nPartner with recruiters to identify qualified candidates for Materials and Purchasing roles.\nCoach team members through the hiring and onboarding process.\nMonitor turnover trends and implement retention initiatives.\nIdentify individual and team development needs and create training plans.\nDevelop and maintain training curricula for the Materials organization.\nCoach and mentor Materials staff to deliver exceptional service to internal and external customers.\nDevelop and manage succession planning activities for the Materials function.\nEstablish clear goals, objectives, and performance expectations for team members.\nProvide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance management.\nConduct performance evaluations professionally and on schedule.\nDrive accountability and continuous improvement against operational metrics and business waste, and reduce costs.\nUtilize cost management tools to monitor departmental expenses and identify trends.\nProvide cost analysis and improvement recommendations to stakeholders.\nDevelop accurate departmental forecasts and planning assumptions.\nAnalyze forecast accuracy and historical trends to improve planning effectiveness.\nMaterials & Supply Chain Management\nEnsure operational execution aligns with Jabil Supply Chain strategies.\nSupport the development and implementation of Supply Chain initiatives and systems.\nEnsure material supply is aligned with customer demand and production requirements.\nPartner with Materials Planners to establish realistic Master Production Schedule (MPS) commitments.\nMaintain disciplined planning processes to ensure material availability while minimizing liability and excess inventory.\nMonitor and resolve material shortages, non-conforming inventory, excess stock, and obsolete materials.\nDrive reductions in overall material costs, including component pricing, freight, inventory carrying costs, and administrative expenses.\nOptimize Material Price Variance (MPV) through strategic sourcing and cost management initiatives.\nSupport standard costing activities through accurate component cost projections.\nEnsure customer quotations are competitive while maximizing favorable MPV opportunities.\nEnsure purchase orders are executed according to negotiated pricing, terms, and conditions.\nPartner with Commodity Managers and Buyers to support strategic sourcing objectives.\nEnsure suppliers are selected based on cost, quality, delivery, and overall business value.\nMonitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers.\nAdhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position.\nComply with all procedures within the company security policy.\nMay perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.\nHow will you get here?\nEducation:\nBachelor’s degree preferred.\nEquivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.\nExperience:\nMinimum of five years of experience in Materials Management, Purchasing, Procurement, Supply Chain, Planning, or a related field.\nMinimum of two years of leadership or supervisory experience.\nExperience managing purchasing, planning, inventory management, or supply chain operations in a manufacturing environment preferred.\nExperience developing and implementing materials and procurement strategies preferred.\nKnowledge, Skills, Abilities:\nStrong knowledge of Materials Management, Purchasing, Supply Chain, and Inventory Control principles.\nUnderstanding of MRP, ERP, and Master Production Scheduling (MPS) processes.\nKnowledge of supplier management, sourcing, procurement, and contract execution.\nAbility to develop and execute strategic supply chain initiatives.\nExperience managing inventory levels to balance customer demand and operational efficiency.\nStrong leadership, coaching, team development, and succession planning skills.\nAbility to establish goals, measure performance, and drive accountability.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to identify process improvement opportunities and implement cost-saving initiatives.\nKnowledge of standard costing, Material
