** On-site at our Prince George, VA facility. **
This role is to support a new factory in Prince George, VA (onsite) startup manufacturing large form-factor equipment. The product will be large (shipping container size), heavy (50+ tons), and complex. This position will be part of the core factory startup and onboarding team responsible for building the operations and manufacturing staff, fitting out the building, and creating the process flow/work instructions/etc. from the ground up. Skills to include panel and point to point wire assembly, Medium Voltage, Low Voltage, and High-Power Electronic assemblies.
How will you make an impact?
You will serve as a key quality representative supporting manufacturing operations, customers, and suppliers by driving process improvements,implementingand sustaining quality controls, resolving quality issues, and ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory, and company requirements. Through data-driven decision making, root cause analysis, and cross-functional collaboration, you will improve product and process performance, enhance customer satisfaction, and support the successful startup and long-term growth of a new manufacturing operation.
What will you do?
Develop andmaintainquality plans, inspection plans, control plans, PFMEAs, and process documentation.
Support new product introductions, process development, process validation, and manufacturing startup activities.
Drive root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive actions for internal, supplier, and customer quality issues.
Analyze quality data, defect trends, Pareto analysis, and process performance metrics toidentifyopportunities for improvement.
Develop, implement, and sustain quality controls, inspection processes, work instructions, training materials, and quality standards.
Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to improve product and process performance.
Interface directly with customers and suppliers to resolve quality concerns and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Support containment activities, nonconformance investigations, and rapidresponsequality actions.
Support Gauge R&R studies, measurement system evaluations, and process capability improvement activities.
Conduct audits and assessments to ensure compliance with quality management system requirements.
Maintain quality documentation and records to support customer, regulatory, and business requirements.
Support ongoing ISO 9001 compliance and quality system initiatives.
Promote a culture of safety, quality, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence across the facility.
How will you get here?
Education
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related technical fieldrequired.
Experience
3+years of QualityEngineeringor Manufacturing Quality experiencein a manufacturing environment.
Experience supporting quality improvement initiatives,root cause analysis, corrective actions, and process controls.
Experience working withelectrical, electronic, electro-mechanical, or industrial manufacturing processes preferred.
Experience supporting startup operations,new product introductions (NPI), process validation,or manufacturing launches is a plus.
Experience with large form-factor manufacturing, industrial equipment, power systems,heavy equipment,or other complex assemblies is highly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Strong understanding of quality engineering principles,quality controls, inspection methodologies, and process controls.
Experience leading root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA),containment activities, and continuous improvement efforts.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical specifications, andGD&T requirements.
Knowledge of quality tools and methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone Analysis,PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, CAPA,Pareto Analysis, and Measurement System Analysis (MSA).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Experience supporting Gauge R&R studies, process validation activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Proficiencywith Microsoft Office applications and quality management systems.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with panel assembly, point-to-point wiring, medium-voltage systems, low-voltage systems, or high-power electronic assemblies.
Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality management system requirements.
Experience interacting directly with customers and suppliers on quality-related issues.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or similar certification is a plus.
