** On-site at our Prince George, VA facility. **
This role is to support a new factory in Prince George, VA (onsite) startup manufacturing large form-factor equipment. The product will be large (shipping container size), heavy (50+ tons), and complex. This position will be part of the core factory startup and onboarding team responsible for building the operations and manufacturing staff, fitting out the building, and creating the process flow/work instructions/etc. from the ground up. Skills toinclude:panel and point to point wire assembly, Medium Voltage, Low Voltage, andHigh PowerElectronic assemblies.
How will you make an impact?
You will play a key role in developing, implementing, andmaintainingthe site's Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with regulatory, customer, and company requirements. Working closely with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional teams, you will helpestablishthe processes, procedures, and controls needed to support a successful manufacturing startup. Through audits, CAPA management, document control, risk assessment, and continuous improvement activities, you will help build a strong quality culture and drive long-term operational success.
What will you do?
Develop, implement, andmaintainquality plans, procedures, and control systems for manufacturing operations.
Lead the development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the site's Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and company requirements, including ISO 9001:2015 certification readiness.
Establish andmaintainkey quality system processes, including document control, CAPA, internal audits, management review, recordsretention, and training compliance.
Develop andmaintainprocess documentation, quality standards, process flow diagrams, PFMEAs, Control Plans, inspection plans, and work instructions.
Create and improve inspection, testing, validation, and process control methodologies.
Monitor and analyze quality system and operational performance metrics toidentifytrends, drive improvements, and mitigate risks.
Lead root cause investigations and systemic problem-solving activities toidentifyandeliminaterecurring quality issues.
Administer and drive CAPA processes, ensuringtimelyimplementation, closure, andeffectivenessverification.
Conduct internal audits and support customer, supplier, certification, andthird-party audits.
Facilitate Management Review activities and support site quality reporting requirements.
Support risk assessment and risk management activities toidentify, evaluate, and mitigate potential quality systems and operational risks.
Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Customer teams to ensure quality requirements are understood and achieved.
Support process validation, qualification, and new product introduction activities.
Drive compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and applicable regulatory requirements, supporting certification readiness and ongoing system effectiveness.
Provide training and guidance on Quality Management System requirements, procedures, and quality methodologies across the organization.
Assistwith startup activities including facility readiness, process development, workforce onboarding, quality system implementation, andcertificationreadiness activities.
How will you get here?
Education
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related technical fieldrequired.
ASQ certifications or other quality-related certifications are a plus.
Experience
3+ years of Quality Engineering or Quality Systems Engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
Experience implementing or managing Quality Management Systems (QMS).
Experience supporting complex manufacturing operations, including electrical, electronic, or electro-mechanical assemblies.
Experience with large form-factor manufacturing, industrial equipment, power systems, switchgear, heavy manufacturing, orsimilar productsis highly preferred.
Experience supporting startup facilities, new product introductions, or new manufacturing launches is strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems, quality assurance methods, and process controls.
Experience with ISO 9001 and quality auditing principles.
Proven ability to lead root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Strong understanding of CAPA, risk analysis, statistical methods, and quality metrics.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical specifications.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes involving panel assembly, point-to-point wiring, medium-voltage systems, low-voltage systems, or high-power electronic assemblies preferred.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
Proficiencywith Microsoft Office applications and quality management tools.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience developing quality systems within a startup or greenfield manufacturing environment.
ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), or similar certification.
Experience leading internal, customer, supplier, or regulatory audits.
Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC), process validation, FMEA, Control Plans, and Risk Management methodologies.
Experience supporting large industrial electrical assemblies, power distribution equipment, or complex electro-mechanical systems.
Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 8D, 5 Why, and other structured problem-solving methodologies.
