Our commitment extends beyond business success as we strive to build sustainable processes that minimize environmental impact and foster vibrant and diverse communities around the globe.This EHS role will be 2nd shift: Mon- Fri 4pm- 1am.\nOur Jabil site in Byhalia, MS is expanding and looking to add experienced Environmental Health Safety (EHS) Specialists to their team!\nHow will you make an impact?\nThe EHS Specialist will establish and promote the maintenance of a safe, accident-free, healthy work environment that is compliant with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Develop and maintain safety policies, procedures and employee communications regarding safety guidelines. Train employees in safe workplace practices.\nWhat will you do?\nDevelops and implements general safety policies and procedures in accordance with company requirements to be followed by site personnel in compliance with local, state, regional, and national environmental, health and safety regulations.\nEnsures compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other regulatory requirements; manage reporting and permitting.\nOversees hazardous waste management and environmental compliance activities.\nConsults with all departments on design and use of equipment, fire prevention and safety programs, and any applicable environmental permits or compliance requirements.\nPartners with operations, engineering, work cell leaders, and operators in the completion of risk assessments.\nSupports the Layout of manufacturing workspace to optimize a safe working environment.\nParticipates in new product integration and other management of changes projects.\nFormulates appropriate safety policies and guidelines.\nInspects or tours facilities to detect existing or potential accidents, incidents, and health hazards.\nRecommends corrective or preventative measures where indicated.\nKeeps managers and employees alerted as to the hazards of working with toxic fumes, chemicals, and any other hazardous substances.\nDevelops training programs and communications to increase proficiency in safe practices and promote safety consciousness.\nParticipates in accident/injury investigations.\nMaintains safety files and records.\nMay report to management on health and safety issues and concerns.\nSupports all company safety and quality programs and initiatives.\nMay perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.\nHow will you get here?\nKnowledge:\nDevelops and implements general EHS policies and procedures to be followed by employees in compliance with local, state, regional, and national regulations.\nRequires working knowledge of US-OSHA and EPA compliance requirements associated with manufacturing operations.\nStrong leadership skills with the ability to build working relationships with individual employees, site leaders, regional EHS team, and site contractors.\nThe ability to prioritize tasks with a focus on completing tasks in a managed approach with attention to technical accuracy and within established timelines.\nKnowledge of incident investigations and root cause analysis.\nFamiliar with new equipment introduction and validation processes; including, User defined criteria, FAT and SAT reviews, PSSR, and other steps to ensure the appropriate review and validation of equipment prior to site operation.\nMaintains safety files and records.\nMay report to management on health and safety issues and concerns.\nSupport company EHS programs and initiatives.\nKnowledge of ISO14001, ISO45001 is preferred.\nProficiency in use of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and e-mail skills are required.\nOther responsibilities may be assigned from time to time as needed, based on the evolution of the company and the requirements of the department/position.\nEducation/experience:\nA minimum of (5) years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.\nPreference given to candidates with education and/or training specific to EHS in a manufacturing environment.\nSuccessful candidates will be able to demonstrate creativity in identifying solutions which balance supporting customer and operational goals along with ensuring EHS requirements are in compliance.\nRCRA and DOT certification preferred.\nBENEFITS PACKAGE WITH JABIL\nCompetitive base salary\nMedical, Dental, Prescription Drug, and Vision Insurance with HRA and HSA options\n401K match\nEmployee Stock Purchase Plan\nPaid Time Off\nTuition Reimbursement\nLife, AD&DJBL TA - Job Requisition Process Status, and Disability Insurance\nCommuter Benefits\nEmployee Assistance Program\nPet Insurance\nAdoption Assistance\nAnnual Merit Increases\nCommunity Volunteer Opportunity\nBE AWARE OF FRAUD: When applying for a job at Jabil you will be contacted via correspondence through our official job portal with a jabil.com e-mail address; direct phone call from a member of the Jabil team; or direct e-mail with a jabil.com e-mail address.
