The Mechanical Design Engineer for Test Fixtures plays a vital role in ensuring the quality and reliability of hardware products, contributing to the overall success of the manufacturing process and customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for contributing to the end-to-end architecture, definition, development and production deployment of production Test fixtures in our manufacturing regions. You will also be responsible for interfacing with our customers, fixture vendors and internal teams from engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure fixture deliverables meet the rigorous standards of Jabil’s world-class manufacturing environments.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nPrimary responsibilities:\nA mechanical design engineer designs for Test Fixtures, designs, develops, and validates the Production fixtures\nProficient in the use of computer-aided design (CAD) software to create designs and analyze performance.\nAbility to use 3D Solidworks and AutoCad preferred.\nAbility to perform stress calculations on designs and materials.\nAbility to conceptualize and create new fixture designs or revise existing ones \nCreate documentation for fixture design and fabrication.\nTest and validate prototypes to ensure design meets performance and cost requirements \nAnalyze problems or deficiencies and develop solutions \nCreate technical operation documentation and detailed documentation to track project development \nWork with other engineers, project managers, vendors, and contractors, Project management and leadership skills\nPerform engineering design evaluations and conduct experiments to improve and innovate product designs. In-depth knowledge of industry design principles\nMANAGEMENT & SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES\nReports to Management\nJOB QUALIFICATIONS\nKNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS\nKnowledge of Pneumatic systems and PLC’s\nFamiliar with motor systems and Robotics.\nKnowledge of engineering principles, such as mechanics, thermodynamics, materials science, and fluid dynamics\nAbility to drill, mill and modify various materials\nAbility to 3D print or manufacture prototypes.\nProficiency in common design software, such as AutoCAD and 3D Solidworks\nEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS\nBachelor's degree in mechanical engineering\n8 to 10 years of experience designing jigs and fixtures for a PCBA manufacturing process.
