This individual will contribute to the technical roadmap for Jabil, identify product solutions for customers, and guide Jabil functional teams to execute to project strategy. Additionally, this role focuses on the design collaboration, implementation, and optimization of power and cooling infrastructure, from grid to chip, to support our customers global data center operational needs. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure infrastructure products are scalable, robust, efficient, and dependable.\nJob Title: Senior Principal Systems Architect\nOrganization: Data Center Infrastructure (DCI) Team\nLocation: Remote* OR Austin, TX\n*Requires 20-30% domestic and/or international travel (rare), depending on business needs\nWhat will you do?\nProvide early-stage customer and opportunity engagement support to shape requirements, influence solution development and improve win probability.\nEvaluate emerging technologies in power distribution, battery systems, HVAC, and liquid cooling and ensure compliance with industry standards (ASHRAE, ANSI/EIA, etc.)\nCollaborate to develop manufacturable scalable power and cooling solutions for new and existing data center clients.\nWork together with product and hardware teams to align infrastructure capabilities with evolving compute and storage requirements.\nAnalyze thermal and electrical performance data to optimize energy efficiency and system reliability.\nJoin forces with multiple teams to design custom IT racks with integrated liquid cooling systems (direct-to-chip, rear-door heat exchangers, or immersion) integrating sensors, flow meters, and leak detection systems into rack designs.\nParticipate in infrastructure projects from RFP through mass production, including vendor selection, testing, and commissioning.\nCreate CAD models, technical drawings, and BOMs for manufacturing and assembly.\nSupport installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of deployed systems.\nDevelop and maintain documentation for infrastructure standards, best practices, and operational procedures.\nSupport root cause analysis and remediation of infrastructure-related incidents.\nDesign and architect end-to-end data center infrastructure solutions that meet business and technical requirements.\nLead the evaluation and selection of hardware, software, and networking technologies.\nDevelop high-level and detailed infrastructure architecture documentation, including diagrams, specifications, and implementation plans\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers, system administrators, cloud architects, and security teams to ensure system compatibility and performance.\nEnsure infrastructure designs align with best practices for performance, scalability, availability, and disaster recovery.\nStay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation.\nEnsure system compatibility and integration for liquid cooling systems for high-performance applications\nEvaluate and select appropriate components such as cooling plates, Coolant Distribution Units, pumps, valves, fittings, and thermal interface materials\nWork closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure successful project execution\nCommunicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences\nMay perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned\nHow will you get here?\nEducation:\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Thermal Engineering is required.\nExperience:\n8+ years of experience in data center infrastructure engineering, with a focus on IT, power and/or cooling system technologies.\nStrong understanding of electrical distribution systems (UPS, PDUs, switchgear, busway) and mechanical systems (CDU’s, Fluid Networks, CRAC/CRAH, chillers, cooling towers)\nKnowledge, Skills, Abilities:\nExperience with liquid cooling technologies (direct-to-chip, immersion)\nKnowledge of sustainability practices and energy efficiency metrics (PUE, WUE)\nExperience with containerization technologies.\nKnowledge of data center energy efficiency and sustainability practices\nUnderstanding of compliance and regulatory requirements\nProficient in reading, analyzing, and interpreting general business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations.\nSkilled in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural guides.\nEffective at presenting information and responding to management, clients, and public queries.\nCapable of influencing others and sharing best practices\nComfortable working as part of a global team\nCapable of assessing projects, articulating risks, and developing project milestones.\nFamiliar with stage-gate processes in project lifecycle management (PLCM).\nAble to mentor less experienced engineers and travel up to 30% as needed\nPreferred Qualifications:\nA Master’s Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline\nExperience with CFD modeling, thermal simulations, or energy modeling tools\nFamiliarity with industry standards such as ASHRAE, IEEE, and Uptime Institute Tier classifications\nProven experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale data center solutions\nFamiliarity with cloud platforms and hybrid cloud architectures\nProfessional Engineering (PE) license\nProject management experience or certification (e.g., PMP, Agile)\nProven record of successful subsystem designs and implementations in a relevant industry\nTravel Requirements: 20% - 30%\nThe pay range for this role is $164,200 - $295,600.
