Provide exceptional support to customers, team members, and shareholders.\nLead the development and execution of test strategies for Large Form Factor (LFF) products, low-voltage switchgear, power distribution equipment, and related electrical assemblies, ensuring compliance with applicable industry standards, customer specifications, and quality requirements.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nLEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES\nRecruitment and Retention:\nRecruit, interview and hire Assistant Test Engineering Managers.\nCommunicate criteria to recruiters for Test Engineer and Test Management position candidates.\nCoach Test Engineering Managers in the interviewing/hiring process.\nMonitor team member turnover; identify key factors that can be improved; make improvements.\nEmployee and Team Development:\nIdentify individual and team strengths and development needs on an ongoing basis.\nCreate and/or validate training curriculum in area of responsibility.\nCoach and mentor Test Engineering staff to deliver excellence to every internal and external customer.\nCreate and manage succession plans for Test Engineering and Test Management functions.\nPerformance Management:\nEstablish clear measurable goals and objectives by which to determine individual and team results (i.e. operational metrics, results against project timelines, training documentation, attendance records, knowledge of operational roles and responsibilities, personal development goals).\nSolicit ongoing feedback from Workcell Manager (WCM), Business Unit Manager (BUM), peers and team member on team member’s contribution to the Workcell team. Provide ongoing coaching and counseling to team member based on feedback.\nExpress pride in staff and encourage them to feel good about their accomplishments.\nPerform team member evaluations professionally and on time.\nDrive individuals and the team to continuously improve in key operational metrics and the achievement of the organizational goals.\nCoordinate activities of large teams and keep them focused in times of crises.\nEnsure recognition and rewards are managed fairly and consistently in area of responsibility.\nCommunication:\nProvide communication forum for the exchange of ideas and information with the department.\nOrganize verbal and written ideas clearly and use an appropriate business style.\nAsk questions; encourage input from team members.\nAssess communication style of individual team members and adapt own communication style accordingly.\nFUNCTIONAL MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES\nBusiness Strategy and Direction:\nKnow and understand the campus strategic directions.\nDefine, develop and implement Test Engineering strategies which contribute to the campus strategic directions.\nDevelop an understanding of the Workcell business strategy as it pertains to Test Engineering.\nProvide regular updates to BUM, WCM, and Operations Manager on the execution of the strategy.\nCost Management:\nIdentify creative ways to reduce cost by streamlining processes and systems (i.e. modification of responsibilities or consolidation of tasks, elimination of non-value-added processes, or complete re-engineering of processes and systems).\nUtilize tools to monitor departmental cost and cost trends, striving continuously to improve value.\nProvide feedback to peers (BUMs, WCMs, Functional Managers (FMs) on cost and cost trends.\nForecast Development and Accuracy:\nPrepare timely forecasts for the department.\nCompare forward forecast results to historical actual results for trend assessment and analysis.\nTECHNICAL MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES\nDevelop, implement, and continuously improve testing strategies and methodologies for Large Form Factor (LFF) electrical products, low-voltage switchgear, power distribution equipment, panelboards, and motor control assemblies.\nIdentify creative ways to reduce cost by streamlining processes and systems (i.e. modification of responsibilities or consolidation of tasks, elimination of non-value-added processes, or complete re-engineering of processes and systems).\nDrive continuous improvement through trend reporting analysis and metrics management.\nAssess the adequacy of data gathering methods utilized by the Workcells.\nAssure that procedures and work instructions are efficient and not redundant.\nOffer new ideas and suggestions for improvement. Identify and implement new practices and processes.\nDemonstrate a commitment to customer service; anticipate, meet, and exceed expectations by solving problems quickly and effectively; making customer issues a priority.\nLead by example.\nRehabilitate troubled Workcells or to help during product launch. Foster a “back to basics” mentality during these times.\nEstablish new measurement systems if/where possible.\nExchange knowledge and information with other Jabil facilities to ensure best practices are shared throughout the Jabil organization.\nEnsure 100% adherence to all company policies and procedures (i.e. Health and Safety, Quality).\nEnsure all sensitive and confidential information is handled appropriately.\nEvaluate customer test strategies and recommend appropriate test solutions to support customer requests.\nDrive the development of specialized test equipment and software.\nManage the procurement of test equipment.\nAdhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.\nComply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.\nMay perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.\nJOB QUALIFICATIONS and KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS\nStrong knowledge of electrical power distribution systems, low-voltage switchgear, circuit protection devices, control systems, and industrial electrical assemblies.\nWorking knowledge of applicable electrical standards including UL, ANSI, IEEE, NEC, and NEMA requirements.\nExperience interpreting electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and technical specifications.\nKnowledge of electrical test equipment including power analyzers, hipot testers, insulation resistance testers, primary/secondary injection equipment, data acquisition systems, and automated test platforms.\nAbility to read, analyze, interpret and communicate regarding common scientific and/or technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.\nAbility to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.\nAbility to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
