The ideal candidate is comfortable designing scalable event-driven solutions, solving complex technical problems, and taking ownership of systems that require both innovation and operational excellence.\nWe are seeking an experienced Software Engineer - C#/.NET Backend Developer to join our Payment Processing team in a full-time, fully remote capacity. In this role, you will design, develop, and support high-performance, cloud-native backend services, APIs, and large-scale batch processing solutions that power critical payment transactions.\nYou will play a key role in modernizing and scaling our payment platform using AWS cloud technologies, event-driven architecture, distributed systems, and AI-assisted development practices, while stabilizing and scaling existing payment processing platform.\nThis position may be worked remotely within the United States, with the exception of California.\nThis position is ineligible for immigration sponsorship and support. Please do not apply if at any time you will need immigration support now or in the future (i.e., H-1B, PERM).\nAll positions, regardless of location, may require an onsite interview or in-person onboarding requirement to verify your identity.\nWhat you’ll be responsible for:\nDesign, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using C#/.NET. \nBuild and support event-driven applications utilizing AWS services such as EventBridge, Lambda, SQS, SNS, Step Functions, ECS, and related cloud-native technologies. \nDesign and implement high-volume batch processing systems capable of handling large-scale payment workloads efficiently and reliably. \nDevelop secure and resilient payment processing solutions that integrate with banking networks, payment gateways, and third-party service providers. \nParticipate in architecture discussions and contribute to strategic modernization initiatives. \nDefine and promote engineering standards, best practices, and design patterns for backend development. \nCollaborate closely with Product Owners, QA, Operations, and other engineering teams throughout the software development lifecycle. \nPerform code reviews and mentor engineers on backend development, cloud architecture, and software engineering best practices. \nLeverage AI tools and modern engineering practices to improve development productivity, software quality, and operational efficiency. \nCreate and maintain technical documentation, test plans, and operational support guides. \nParticipate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, and retrospectives. \nProvide production support, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and participate in on-call rotations for critical business systems. \nMay perform other job duties as assigned. \nWhat you’ll need to have:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical field.\n4 years of software development experience, including: \n2+ years developing enterprise applications using C# and .NET. \n2+ years designing and supporting RESTful APIs and backend services. \nExperience building large-scale batch processing applications.\nStrong experience designing and implementing event-driven architectures and asynchronous processing patterns. \nHands-on experience with AWS cloud services, including EventBridge, Lambda, SQS, SNS, ECS, CloudWatch, and related technologies. \nProven experience integrating with payment processors, banking systems, ACH networks, or payment gateways. \nExperience working with MySQL and SQL Server, including: \nDatabase schema design. \nQuery optimization. \nStored procedures and functions. \nPerformance tuning.\nExperience leveraging AI tools and technologies to improve software development, testing, troubleshooting, and operational efficiency. \nExcellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. \nStrong verbal and written communication skills. \nWhat would be nice for you to have:\nExperience with Microsoft Orleans and virtual actor-based distributed systems.\nExperience building microservices architectures.\nFamiliarity with Terraform, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), or cloud automation tools.\nExperience implementing monitoring and observability solutions using CloudWatch, OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Datadog, or similar platforms.\nExperience working in regulated financial services or payment processing environments.\nKnowledge of CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar deployment platforms.\nFamiliarity with security best practices, authentication, authorization, and secure software development principles.\nExperience supporting high-availability systems requiring 24x7 operational support.\nIf you got this far, we hope you're feeling excited about this opportunity.
