We are seeking a Senior Node Engineer to join a new team building backend services supporting UI tooling for our digital banking platform.\nThis position may be worked remotely from any US location with the exception of California. May require occasional travel, up to 5% for meetings, trainings, or conferences. All positions, regardless of location, may require an onsite interview or in-person onboarding requirement to verify your identity.\nWhat you’ll be responsible for:\nPerforms and may lead system analysis and programming activities which may require research and timely, effective, and quality delivery of software into production.\nPerforms, and may lead, technical/engineering support for new and existing applications from code delivery until the retirement of the application.\nDevelops, tests and reviews applications based on business requirements and industry best practices.\nUses best practices and standard guidance to create and modify code. Considers how code changes will affect end users and internal teams. May review code created by less experienced team members.\nPerforms, and may lead, work with cross-team as projects dictate.\nWorks on, and may lead, critical tasks and deliverables with no assistance, and sets and updates expectations on size, scope, and timelines.\nParticipates in and may lead team in cross-functional meetings and discussions.\nCreates required technical documentation.\nStays updated with emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending innovative solutions to improve software development processes.\nAdheres to documented departmental and corporate standards. Participates in the definition and documentation of standards.\nMay lead unit tests and integration tests to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of developed software.\nDebugs and troubleshoots issues as they arise, providing timely resolutions.\nMay contribute to product architecture. \nMay perform other job duties as assigned.\nWhat you’ll need to have:\nMinimum 12 years of programming experience, including experience in the back-end development of RESTful APIs using NodeJS, Express, KOA, GraphQL, or Next.\nExperience with Postgres SQL and/or SpannerDB. \nExperience with any or all of the following: continuous integration pipelines, observability, monitoring, Postgres, Docker, Kubernetes or microservices architecture.\nExperience in resolving real-time service problems by utilizing monitoring tools to deeply analyze service architecture and identify root causes for continuous improvement.\nWhat would be nice for you to have:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science.\nExperience with Typescript.\nExperience with implementing OAuth2/OpenID Connect. This team develops and supports an IDP.\nExperience in Financial Technology (FinTech).\nSelf-motivation and the ability to work independently. A sense of ownership of your deliverables, from working with product managers and/or business analysts to define the scope, all the way through supporting your work in production.
