In this role, you will primarily maintain the books and records for our APAC businesses and work with our regional and global accounting teams to review monthly and annual financial statements.\nAdditional responsibilities of the role will include:\nReviewing various accounting reconciliations and financial schedules that support the financial statements\nCollaborating with outside auditors and advisors on accounting policy decisions, GAAP interpretations and internal control documentation and decisions\nWorking closely with other team members, including members of our accounting-specific technology team, to improve processes and ensure the team’s goals are met\nAt Jane Street, we always look for the best solutions to complex problems-and that mindset extends to our accounting function. Since our legal and regulatory environment is constantly shifting, we are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented person who can jump into our fast-paced environment and take ownership of delivering high-quality work on time. \nAbout You\nHave a bachelor’s degree and are a qualified accountant with relevant accountancy credentials\nHave 10+ years of experience in an accounting role (a mix of private and public preferred), including experience with reviewing financial statements and account reconciliations\nFamiliar with the relevant regulatory regimes and have in-depth knowledge of either US GAAP or IFRS, as well as a comprehensive understanding of financial statements and legal entity reporting \nAble to research and interpret relevant/complex accounting literature; experienced in the preparation of technical accounting papers\nSelf-motivated to improve processes where possible\nOrganised with great communication skills; able to build strong collaborative relationships across various groups within the firm\nHave excellent time management skills;
