This role ensures the efficient movement of freight by consolidating shipments, optimizing routing, and ensuring compliance with international regulations. The specialist maintains clear communication with all stakeholders, providing timely updates while delivering exceptional service to both suppliers and customers. Additionally, they uphold quality standards, resolve logistical challenges, and contribute to seamless operational workflows.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\nThe Air Gateway specialist will process and close MAWB for consolidations and back-to-back AWB’s.\nEnsure that file contains all necessary documents and copies are in proper sequence.\nTo do what it takes to meet and exceed Internal and External customers’ defined needs and expectations.\nBook space with carriers.\nEnsure all MAWBs are rated correctly.\nObtain spot codes on all special negotiated rates with carriers\nEnter spot rates and codes in C1.\nTrack AWB and provide COB information to the respective branches.\nResearch on all CCA, weight and rate discrepancies sent by carriers.\nFiling of files.\nPerform other duties as needed or requested.\nManage/update carrier/vendor rates. Obtain spot rates when necessary.\nCommunicate/correspondwith overseas agents and clients in a timely manner. To include pre alert, rate requests, shipment status.\nTrack shipments and update customers/agents of status.\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:\nNone\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nMinimum 2-5 years’ experience handling freight forwarding shipments or a combination of education and expertise required.\nThe ideal candidate has experience working in a Gateway or HUB Operation.\nKnowledge of US Exports Compliance is preferred.\nExperience in freight forwarding industry is preferred.\nCargowise (C1) experience is a plus.\nAdditional languages are a plus.\nExcellent communication skills.\nAbility to work in a fast paced environment.\nDetail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines.\nSelf-motivated, able to work in a team and independently.\nStrong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.\nAble to perform the essential duties of this position without posing a “direct threat” to the health or safety of self or others.\nAble to interact positively and effectively with co-workers, subordinates and supervisors.\nEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:\nMinimum 2-5 years’ experience handling Air export shipments or a combination of education and expertise required.\nCargowise (C1) experience is a plus.\nExperience in the freight forwarding industry is preferred.\nAdditional languages are a plus.\nGeographical knowledge is preferred.\nENVIRONMENT:\n100% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions.
