The Air Export Manager leads a team of export professionals, drives operational performance, manages customer expectations and KPIs, and promotes continuous improvement to deliver exceptional service, regulatory compliance, and business growth.Job Description\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\nManage and develop efficient and effective flow of work to attain optimum efficiency and productivity of department.\nIdentify the cause of problems and provide effective solutions.\nUtilize appropriate reporting methods to quantify and prioritize workload. Managing JAS operational and customers (KPIs) Key Performance Indicators.\nManage communication with export related authorities and customer and suppliers in all relevant countries as necessary to ensure efficient, positive and lawful relations, support and activities.\nAudit departments’ files to ensure accuracy and completion.\nWork with other departments in order to establish and maintain effective and relevant export activities and support in relation to the organizations operating functions.\nInitiates, promotes, supports and implements change in order to increase organizational effectiveness.\nMake sound decisions based on analysis, experience and good judgment.\nEnsure staff has the appropriate training and resources necessary to perform their jobs.\nResponsible for branch TSA compliance.\nOther duties and projects as assigned.\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:\nIncumbent will directly and/or indirectly supervise one or more employees.\nConduct performance evaluations for export department staff.\nRecommend hiring, terminations and promotions of department employees.\nIdentify and resolve personnel issues.\nCreate an environment that encourages others to develop professionally.\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nMinimum 8-10 years relevant Air Export in the freight forwarding space.\nMinimum 3-5 years supervisory experience.\nExcellent written and verbal skills.\nExcellent organizational and time management skills.\nStrong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite.\nDetail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines.\nSelf-motivated, able to work with a team and also independently.\nUnderstanding of regulatory compliance with export rules and regulations.\nEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:\nMinimum 8-10 years relevant Air Export in the freight forwarding space.\nMinimum 3-5 years supervisory experience.\nCargowise (C1) experience is a preferred.\nMust have strong understanding of US Export Compliance.\nHigh school diploma or GED is preferred.\nKnowledge of procedures for international and domestic freight, trucking and warehouse services.\nENVIRONMENT :\n100% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions. Travel will be (up to 15 %) required in support of the position’s responsibilities.\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers to feel and handle, reach with arms and hands, talk and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stop, kneel and crouch, lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds.
