This position will ensure air freight is in accordance with organizational policy and procedure, and within compliance of relevant local, country and international laws and processes. This role is required to provide customer service to exporting customers and accounting agents, while performing bookings, providing rates, document production, and problem resolution.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\nPrepare and coordinate the necessary documentation for the efficient, cost-effective and lawful execution of all air export activities.\nCoordinate cargo pick up and transfer while monitoring the status.\nCommunicate with export-related authorities, customers, and suppliers in all relevant territories and countries as necessary to ensure efficient, positive, and lawful relations to support activities.\nManage and update carrier and vendor rates. Obtain spot rates when necessary.\nCommunicate and correspond with overseas agents and clients in a timely manner, such as pre alerts, rate requests, and shipment status.\nTrack shipments and update customers and agents of status.\nCreate and maintain customer files.\nProvide customer invoicing and payable approval.\nAudit files to ensure accuracy and completion.\nInteraction with coworkers in a professional and courteous manner.\nCompletion of US Customs AES (Automated Export System) filings.\nManage JAS operational and customers (KPIs) Key Performance Indicators.\nAssist other departments/divisions as needed, or when requested by department or branch manager.\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nMinimum 2-5 years’ experience handling Air Exports shipments or a combination of education and expertise required.\nExcellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills.\nStrong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.\nDetail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines.\nSelf-motivated, able to work in a team and independently.\nKnowledge of all customs laws, practices and procedures.\nAble to perform the essential duties of this position without posing a “direct threat” to the health or safety of self or others.\nAble to interact positively and effectively with co-workers, subordinates and supervisors.\nGeographical knowledge is preferred.\nEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:\nHigh School Diploma or GED.\nExperience handling Air Exports shipments or a combination of education and expertise required\nCargowise experience is a plus.\nBilingual is preferred.\nExperience in the freight forwarding industry is a plus.\nKnowledge of US Exports Compliance is preferred.\nENVIRONMENT:\n100% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions.\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers to feel and handle, reach with arms and hands, talk and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stop, kneel and crouch, lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds.
