They guide how we serve our employees, passengers, communities, and partners every day.\nThe Road Supervisor provides day-to-day field supervision and operational support for Jaunt's transportation services. Reporting to the Director of Safety & Training, this position supervises assigned operators, promotes safe and efficient service delivery, responds to operational issues, and provides coaching to improve employee performance. The Road Supervisor works collaboratively across the organization to support safe, reliable, and customer-focused transportation services.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nField Operations\nProvide daily field supervision and operational support to assigned operators.\nMonitor service delivery to ensure compliance with operating procedures, schedules, and customer service expectations.\nRespond to service disruptions, accidents, emergencies, customer concerns, and other operational issues as assigned.\nConduct field observations and ride checks to monitor operator performance and service quality.\nServe as a resource to operators by providing guidance and assistance throughout daily operations.\nEmployee Supervision and Development\nCoach operators to promote safe driving practices, regulatory compliance, and excellent customer service.\nMonitor operator performance and provide timely feedback, coaching, and documentation.\nAssist with new operator training, behind-the-wheel instruction, and CDL development as assigned.\nSupport the consistent application of organizational policies, procedures, and work rules.\nRecommend corrective action and recognition based on employee performance.\nSafety and Regulatory Compliance\nPromote compliance with all applicable organizational policies and transportation regulations.\nInvestigate vehicle accidents, incidents, and customer complaints and prepare required documentation.\nAssist in identifying safety concerns and recommending corrective actions.\nSupport implementation of safety initiatives and training programs.\nMaintain required operational and safety records.\nAdministrative Responsibilities\nReview and reconcile operator time records.\nMaintain attendance, performance, incident, and operational documentation.\nPrepare reports and documentation related to operational activities, investigations, and employee performance.\nCommunicate operational concerns and recommendations to the Director of Safety & Training.\nOperational Collaboration\nWork collaboratively with Training Supervisors, Scheduling, Dispatch, Customer Service, Fleet Maintenance, and other departments to support efficient service delivery.\nAssist with special events, emergency operations, and service adjustments as assigned.\nServe as a relief operator when operational needs require.\nPerform other related duties as assigned.\nRequirements\nQUALIFICATIONS\nRequired Education and Experience\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.\nTwo (2) years of supervisory, lead, or transportation operations experience.\nValid Virginia Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) endorsement.\nDriving record that meets Jaunt's insurance requirements.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience in public transit, passenger transportation, or another customer-focused service environment.\nExperience coaching or training employees.\nKnowledge of DOT, FTA, ADA, and CDL regulations.\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES\nKnowledge of transportation operations and the Jaunt service area.\nStrong leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills.\nAbility to communicate effectively with employees, passengers, and the public.\nAbility to remain calm and make sound decisions in emergency or high-pressure situations.\nStrong organizational, documentation, and time management skills.\nAbility to investigate incidents and prepare accurate reports.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office and other business software applications.\nWHY THIS ROLE MATTERS\nThe Road Supervisor plays an essential role in ensuring Jaunt's transportation services operate safely, efficiently, and professionally each day. Through field leadership, employee coaching, and operational support, this position helps operators succeed while providing passengers with safe, reliable, and customer-focused transportation services.\nSPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:\nEmployment is contingent upon successfully completing a pre-employment drug screen and meeting Jaunt's driving record standards for insurance eligibility. Continued employment is contingent upon compliance with Jaunt's Substance Abuse Policy and maintaining a driving record that meets the organization's insurance requirements.\nAs a public transportation provider, Jaunt employees regularly interact with passengers of all abilities.
