The Role

The Operations team at Javelin is responsible for the execution and coordination of logistics activities supporting the company’s global commodity trading business. Working closely with Trading, Finance, Legal, Documents and Settlements teams, the function ensures that contracts are executed efficiently, operational risks are managed effectively, and deliveries are completed in accordance with contractual requirements.

As the business continues to grow, we are seeking a Commodity Logistics Specialist to join our Krakow office. The successful candidate will work as part of a global Operations team, supporting the movement of physical commodities and contributing to the efficient execution of domestic and international transactions.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage and coordinate logistics activities related to commodity transactions, ensuring timely and accurate contract execution.
  • Coordinate loading schedules, cargo releases and shipment execution while maintaining accurate records in operational systems. Ensure loading windows and logistics schedules are aligned with contractual requirements.
  • Liaise with documents team/legal team to make sure contracts are accurate from a logistics perspective
  • Manage cargo documentation and coordinate with inspection agencies and laboratories to ensure timely receipt and verification of quality certificates and related documentation.
  • Review and approve supplier invoices in accordance with contractual terms and operational requirements
  • Monitor advance payment invoices and support timely cargo releases.
  • Coordinate logistics activities supporting trade finance requirements, including planned loadings associated with bank-funded transactions.
  • Take responsibility for reporting of programme and respond to ad-hoc queries from trading desk
  • Prepare operational reports, monitor contract performance and provide updates to traders and other stakeholders. Support month-end reconciliation and inventory reporting activities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers, ports, terminals, transport providers and other key business partners.
  • Act as a primary operational contact for logistics-related activities and issue resolution.

Requirements

  • Fluent in both Polish and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • 1+ years of experience in commodity logistics, commodity operations, supply chain, international trade, or a related operational environment.
  • Experience coordinating physical commodity shipments and managing logistics activities across multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of logistics operations, contract execution, and supply chain processes
  • Knowledge of Incoterms and international shipping documentation.
  • Experience working with ports, terminals, transport providers, inspection companies, and laboratories.
  • Understanding of quality control processes and commodity-related documentation, including quality certificates.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build effective working relationships with customers and internal teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively across different time zones.
  • Ability to monitor and maintain controls within operational and trading systems.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and operational systems.
  • Experience reviewing operational invoices and supporting trade finance or banking-related logistics processes would be an advantage.
