As a Project Engineer at JBB, you'll join a team delivering impactful healthcare projects while also gaining exposure to a diverse portfolio across multiple sectors. Working under one of JBB's most respected leaders, you'll collaborate directly with clients and stakeholders, contribute to highly visible projects, and build a well-rounded career without being confined to a single market sector.\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nLeads full design on tenant fit-out projects; key designer on base building and infrastructure upgrades; assembles complete contract documents including specifications.\nEstablishes design criteria from project proposals and assembles Basis of Design documents.\nLeads design for all ancillary trade systems including UPS, generators, fuel oil, secondary water, and water reclamation systems.\nReviews shop drawings, RFIs, and contractor change orders; performs site visits and punch lists with limited supervision.\nAssists in establishing project schedules that ensure effective use of resources and on-time delivery.\nHolds team members accountable to deadlines and delivery expectations, regardless of their position.\nAttends project meetings independently; provides technical expertise and communicates decisions clearly.\nAssists in preparing proposals and managing add services; coordinates design and owner-directed changes.\nManages cross-discipline coordination to keep documents aligned and expectations met across the full project team.\nAnticipates problems, addresses them proactively, and proposes solutions that prevent recurrence.\nReviews and supports junior team members' work for quality and completeness.\nActively mentors engineers, including leading JB&B University courses.\nCommunicates project goals clearly to align all team members with client expectations.\nContributes to department standards and firm knowledge, including The Pine.\n REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Proficiency in discipline-specific design calculations and tools (Revit, AutoCAD).\nStrong understanding of trade-specific scope, codes, and coordination requirements.\nStrong understanding of documentation requirements for each project phase (SD, DD, CD, specifications).\nDemonstrated ability to manage others and hold a team accountable to deadlines.\nStrong verbal and written communication; comfortable leading meetings and representing the team.\nEmerging project management skills, including proposal preparation and add services management.\nEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering required.\nMinimum 3 years of experience, or proven demonstration of Senior Engineer-level competencies.\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:This position has supervisory responsibilities.
