Who never settle for \"just average\".\nIn a nutshell\nWe're a leading Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) contractor looking to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Project Surveyor to join our team.\nWe're seeking a commercially focused professional with an M&E contracting background and experience in pre-contract negotiations and the commercial management of fast-paced, multi-million-pound projects. The successful candidate will provide commercial support to project delivery teams, ensuring contractual and commercial compliance throughout the project lifecycle while working closely with the Commercial Manager and Commercial Director.\nDay to day\nThis role provides the opportunity to be part of something that will last for generations. You will be part of a team that helps design and consult on multiple projects across our business. From residential care villages, to hotels and ground breaking innovative client projects, you will be involved throughout the process.\nThis will often include the following activities.\nManagement of all commercial activities throughout design stage, assistance with compiling the tender bid for the submission of the AMP (Absolute maximum price) construction of the project and engaging with Sub-Contractors / Suppliers during this phase.\n\nWorking alongside our design, pre-construction, estimating team during the above phase, ensuring commercial coverage.\n\nReview and negotiation of the Contract with our Client, with support from the senior management team.\n\nNegotiation and Contract placement of the Sub-Contract Agreements with our specialist Sub-Contractors.\n\nPreparation and submission of monthly interim valuations to our Client in line with our Contract.\n\nManage, value and agree variations to the Contract.\n\nCarry out the valuation, preparation, and submission of compliant payment notices to our Sub-Contractors in accordance with the Sub-Contract Agreement.\n\nManagement and agreement of variations with our Sub-Contractors.\n\nAgreement of final accounts upstream and downstream.\n\nMonthly production and presentation of financial report for the project in line with the company timetable.\n\nReview and understanding of programme, and ensure correct contractual notices are issued and as required by the Contract.\n\nAbout you\nWe are looking for a diverse range of applicants who have a real passion for the M&E industry, perhaps wanting to change careers or kick start their journey with us as one of the largest M&E business in the area.\nHere are some of the qualities we are looking for in the right person to join our team \nExcellent communication skills\n\nHigh degree of personal motivation\n\nCommercial acumen\n\nAbility to work as part of a team supporting both the operational team and peer group\n\nManage numerous activities across a number of projects simultaneously\n\nOutgoing personality essential for dealing directly with clients and their design teams\n\nStrong negotiation skills\n\nFlexibility with regard to working across all areas of the business, and hours to meet the requirements of this challenging position.\n\nEnterprising, commercial and planned approach\n\nWilling and able to take responsibility\n\nAbility to add value to the role, department and company as a whole\n\nIf this sounds like you, and you would like to be on this exciting journey, we would love to hear from you!\nBe yourself\nOur clients come from all walks of life and so do our colleagues.
