For more information, visit https://www.jbpoindexter.com.\n\nThe Safety Program Manager will develop, coordinate, and implement occupational health and safety policies, procedures, and training to promote and ensure effective safety operations across the organization and lead our internal audit program. This role requires a strong background in occupational health and safety, risk management, and compliance, along with exceptional management and communication skills.\n\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nEstablish safety policies and procedures. Design and implement standardized safety policies and procedures that comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices; ensure these policies are effectively communicated and consistently followed throughout the organization.\nDevelop a corporate safety and communications calendar, develop and deliver content to all business units. \nBuild a robust company-wide ergonomics program through partnership with 3rd party solutions and company medical staff. \nMonitor and assess safety performance. Regularly analyze safety data to identify trends, potential hazards, and emerging risks. \nFoster a culture of safety excellence by promoting accountability, continuous improvement, and employee engagement. \nDevelop a safety strategy to incorporate HOP and VPP elements. \nParticipate in company internal EHS audits and inspections. \nDevelop and deliver safety training programs. Collaborate with training and development teams to design and deliver effective safety training programs for employees (at all levels), contractors, and onsite service providers; ensure that employees are adequately trained to perform their duties safely.\nStay informed about industry trends and regulations. Stay up to date with the latest safety regulations, industry trends, and emerging technologies related to workplace safety, and proactively identify (and implement) opportunities to provide best-in-class safety practices.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams. Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including leadership, operations, human resources, legal, and risk management teams; work collaboratively to ensure safety considerations are integrated into business processes and decision-making.\nAssist with coordinating company-wide programs, such as machine guarding, combustible dust, and industrial hygiene. \nPartner with all business units and procurement to select vendors and implement company-wide service agreements (i.e., arc flash, PPE vendors, etc.)\nQualifications and Skills:\nBachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, environmental health, manufacturing, engineering (safety engineering preferred), or a related field. \nAt least 3 years of occupational health and safety or safety management in an industrial setting, with experience in manufacturing environments and auditing\nProven track record in developing and implementing successful safety programs and initiatives\nStrong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and influence others at all levels of the organization\nExcellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex safety concepts to diverse audiences\nDemonstrated ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions\nAbility to travel domestically 25-30%\nAccelerated computer skills; ability to adapt quickly to computer software programs with proficiency in Microsoft Office Package\nStrategic thinker and problem solver\nSelf-motivated, results-oriented and extremely organized\nStrong project management skills\nAbility to interpret governmental safety and environmental regulations (i.e., OSHA, EPA), and provide practical application of regulations\nPhysical Requirements:\nPosition works primarily in an office environment, but walking through industrial areas of manufacturing shops as needed; must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required \nWork involves sitting, standing, hearing, talking, handling, reaching outward, reaching above shoulder, walking, squatting or kneeling, bending\nRegularly required to work on multiple concurrent tasks with constant interruptions\n\nJ.B.
