This opportunity is designed for students pursuing a degree in geomatics, surveying, or a related field who want to apply what they're learning in the classroom to real-world projects. You'll be exposed to different aspects of the surveying process, from collecting field data to preparing survey drawings and supporting project deliverables.\nWhat You'll Do\nAssist field crews with boundary, topographic, construction layout, and other land surveying activities.\nLearn to operate surveying equipment, including GPS/GNSS receivers, robotic total stations, and data collectors.\nSupport field data collection, measurements, documentation, and survey calculations.\nAssist with preparing and updating survey drawings, maps, and related documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D and other surveying software.\nHelp organize, review, and process field data for use in survey deliverables.\nAssist with researching property records, plats, legal descriptions, and other survey-related information.\nFollow established safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment in the office and field.\nTake on additional responsibilities and learning opportunities as skills and experience develop.\nWhat You'll Gain\nPractical experience in both field surveying and office-based survey production.\nExposure to real-world land projects.\nHands-on training with industry-standard surveying equipment and software.\nOpportunities to learn from experienced surveying professionals.\nA better understanding of surveying career paths, professional licensure, and the skills needed to succeed in the industry.\nRequirements\nCurrently enrolled in a college or university program in Geomatics, Surveying and Mapping, Geospatial Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field.\nInterest in pursuing a career in land surveying or a related profession.\nBasic understanding of surveying principles through coursework is preferred.\nFamiliarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or surveying equipment is a plus, but not required.\nStrong attention to detail and willingness to learn new skills.\nAbility to follow instructions, ask questions, and work collaboratively with others.\nDependable, professional, and willing to work in both office and outdoor field environments.\nValid driver's license preferred.\nPhysical Requirements & Working Conditions\nThis position includes both office-based responsibilities and physically demanding outdoor fieldwork.
