The East Division Controller will work closely with the West Division Controller to align accounting practices, reporting standards, controls, systems, and performance management across all eight U.S. Beef plants. This leader will translate financial results into actionable insights and drive continuous improvement throughout the division and the broader U.S. Beef business.\nResponsibilities:\nLead, develop, and support the finance and accounting teams serving the four East Beef plants, including plant controllers and their teams.\nEnsure accurate and timely completion of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, forecasts, budgets, and management reporting across the division.\nPartner with the West Division Controller to establish and maintain consistent accounting practices, reporting standards, internal controls, systems, and performance measures across all eight U.S. Beef plants while addressing site-specific business needs.\nOversee plant accounting functions, including inventory and cost accounting, cattle payables, invoicing, expense reporting, reconciliations, variance analysis, capital spending, and payback analysis.\nEnsure compliance with company accounting policies, internal controls, SOX requirements, and applicable regulatory standards; identify and remediate control gaps.\nPartner with operations, procurement, supply chain, and other cross-functional leaders to improve margins, manage working capital, control costs, and achieve targeted results.\nEvaluate capital requests and major initiatives, monitor returns against approved business cases, and provide recommendations to leadership.\nDrive continuous improvement through standardized processes, stronger systems and analytics, and effective sharing of best practices across the four East Beef plants and, in partnership with the West Division Controller, across all eight U.S. Beef plants.\nSupport talent development and succession planning within plant finance, including coaching, performance expectations, and capability building.\nTravel among the four East Beef plants and other company locations as business needs require.\nOther duties as assigned \nQualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required\n10 or more years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility.\nDemonstrated experience overseeing financial operations across multiple manufacturing sites or business units.\nStrong knowledge of US GAAP, cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and SOX compliance.\nExperience in meat processing, food manufacturing, or another complex manufacturing environment strongly preferred.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to translate financial information into business action.\nAdvanced proficiency with enterprise financial systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Excel.\nCan perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation\nAs a salaried position with the company, you may be required to travel at some point to other facilities, to attend Company events, or as a representative of the Company in other situations.
