Since 1998, Proseal has grown into a globally recognised manufacturer, with production facilities in the UK, USA, and Australia, and a worldwide sales and service network supporting customers across the food industry.\nShift Pattern / Working Hours\nMonday to Friday, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break each day and two paid 15-minute breaks. A total of 39 hours per week.\nPurpose\nThe Compliance Engineer is responsible for ensuring Proseal products, systems, and engineering activities comply with applicable legislation, industry standards, customer requirements, and internal quality processes. Working closely with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Service, Supply Chain, and external certification bodies, the role supports product development and lifecycle management while promoting compliance, safety, and regulatory excellence across the business.\nKey Responsibilities\nRegulatory Compliance\nEnsure all equipment and engineering solutions comply with applicable legislation, directives, standards, and regulations, including but not limited to: \nMachinery Regulations / Machinery Directive \nUKCA and CE Marking requirements \nElectrical Safety Standards \nLow Voltage Directive \nElectromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) requirements \nFunctional Safety standards \nPUWER and relevant HSE guidance \nMaintain compliance documentation and technical files throughout the product lifecycle. \nMonitor regulatory developments, assess impacts, and recommend appropriate actions. \nProduct Compliance & Risk Management\nLead product risk assessments and hazard analyses, ensuring compliance requirements are embedded throughout the design and manufacturing process. \nManage and maintain compliance-related engineering documentation used to test and certify products in manufacture.\nSupport regional business units where product manufacturing is outside of the primary business unit\nAssist with investigations relating to product safety, customer complaints, and compliance-related incidents. \nStandards & Certification\nCoordinate external testing and certification activities with approved bodies and suppliers. \nSupport product certification, approvals, and audits. \nEnsure technical files, declarations of conformity, and associated compliance records remain current and accurate. \nProvide compliance guidance for new product introductions and engineering change activities. \nQuality & Continuous Improvement\nSupport internal and external audits, addressing compliance risks through effective corrective actions. \nDevelop and enhance compliance processes, governance, and best practice standards. \nContribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen safety, compliance, and operational performance. \nTraining & Stakeholder Support\nProvide guidance and training to engineering and operational teams on compliance requirements. \nAct as a subject matter expert for regulatory and machinery safety matters. \nSupport customer and supplier queries relating to product compliance and certification. \nEssential Criteria\nDegree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline. \nExperience in a compliance, product safety, quality, or engineering role within a manufacturing environment. \nStrong understanding of machinery safety principles and risk assessment methodologies. \nKnowledge of UKCA, CE Marking, Machinery Regulations, EMC, and electrical safety requirements. \nAbility to interpret technical standards and regulatory requirements. \nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills. \nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills. \nExperience managing technical documentation and compliance records. \nDesirable Criteria\nExperience within food processing, food packaging, automation, or capital equipment manufacturing. \nKnowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems. \nUnderstanding of functional safety standards (ISO 13849, IEC 62061). \nInternal Auditor qualification. \nExperience managing product certification activities with external bodies. \nUnderstanding of IEC 62443 \nWhat's in it for
