As we Create with Collaboration, Serve with Integrity, Grow with Excellence, and Advance with Innovation.\nBasic Purpose of the Position:\nThe Design Engineer is a critical role responsible for managing the engineering aspects of localization. This position combines form/fit/function analysis, value engineering, localized design, BOM management and cross-functional collaboration to optimize local manufacturing and aftermarket parts availability.\nMajor Responsibility Area #1: Design for local manufacturing\nWorking in teams on the development of concepts, testing, investigation and verification of concepts and designs.\nTo execute the maintenance and mechanical design of machinery, layouts, assemblies and components, to fulfill the design and requirements, to prepare assembly/detail drawings and part lists.\nIdentify opportunities for cost savings without compromising product quality or delivery schedules.\nDrive Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VAVE) initiatives at the Site level.\nEngage cross-functional stakeholders to ensure successful VAVE implementation and savings capturing.\nMajor Responsibility Area #2: Parts localization\nIdentifying and evaluating new suppliers in collaboration with operations, aftermarket and global sourcing teams.\nPaying attention to the function, reliability, safety, production technologies and cost.\nEngage cross-functional stakeholders to ensure successful parts implementation and savings capturing.\nMajor Responsibility Area #3: Technical documentation\nReview and update technical documentation in accordance with localization.\nDistribute necessary technical documentation to customers, site supervisors, and suppliers. \n\nEducation:\nMandatory: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.\nSkills and Experience:\nMandatory: Minimum of 5 years in engineering, with a strong background in production processes.\nKnowledge of the food processing industry requirements.\nGood understanding of mechanics and industrial automation.\nExperience with or knowledge of 3D design tools.\nExperience with and comfort working in multi-cultural, multi-discipline organization.\nExcellent skills in written and spoken English.\n\nTravel Requirements:\nFrequent visits to JBTM plant and local suppliers will be required.\nSome international travel may be required.\n\nEqual Opportunity Employment\nJBT Marel's provides equal employment opportunity to all employees and qualified applicants for employment.
