As we Create with Collaboration, Serve with Integrity, Grow with Excellence, and Advance with Innovation.\nAs our Mechanical Engineer- you will report to the Manager-Engineering Poultry.\nThe R&D department for the DSI brand at JBT Marel designs, develops, and tests cutting edge industrial equipment for the food industry. We bring together machine vision, mechatronic systems, industrial robotics, and structural weldments to help feed the world. The machinery we design includes waterjet cutters, high speed blade cutters, and robotic harvesting systems.\nOur engineers develop and test new equipment in a hands-on, dynamic environment. This involves researching the latest developments in machine tool technology, designing complex models in CAD, FEA analysis, creating engineering drawings for fabrication and manufacturing, testing prototype components, visiting food plants to document machine performance, and troubleshooting field problems.\nOn a given day, you may:\nHelp develop the next generation of cutting and product handling equipment\nDesign, source, fabricate and test component level improvements\nIntegrate tested components and subassemblies into prototype machine design\nAnalysis of new designs using FEA, MathCAD, and accelerated testing in house and in the field\nPerform risk analysis\nComplete drawing packages and ECN's to integrate new designs into MRP system\nSupport the existing fleet of portioners, harvesting, and cutting machines\nRespond to urgent requests from customers, service techs, and applications engineers\nRefine recommended spare parts list and help set initial inventory amount\nRevise or replace components or subassemblies in need of improvement\nWork with manufacturing on ongoing and new builds\nSupport prototype builds of subassemblies and full machines, frequently in person\nSupport Manufacturing Engineers and assemblers in person and remotely\nWork with Sourcing, RCI, and QA to ensure best practices for pricing, delivery, and quality\nVisit and understand customers and issues\nFix challenging and complex issues with machine performance\nIdentify potential upgrade kits or component improvements that improve customer satisfaction and create incremental revenue for JBT Marel. Design and document kits.\nRequirements for the role\nBachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or equivalent\nProficiency in CAD.
