The JCC Aquatics Center provides access to indoor and outdoor pools year-round, with approximately 85 hours of operation a week.\nRole and Responsibilities\nNormal work hours: Varied to include nights, weekends, and holidays.\nEnsure the safety of all swimmers by preventative measures and minimizing hazardous situations.\nEnforcement of all pool rules and regulations in a polite and courteous manner.\nProvide quick response to emergency situations in the water/deck area.\nConduct ongoing maintenance: adjust feeders, when necessary, check the operation of the pump and flow meter, vacuum the pool, wash down the deck and pump room, clean stainless steel and filters, record pool readings, etc.\nBe knowledgeable on all aquatic information and programming.\nDisplay a professional appearance with appropriate dress/uniform.\nBe timely and punctual when reporting to work.\nEnsure the aquatic area is safe, clean, and orderly.\nOther duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nBasic Qualifications\nHigh school education or comparable work experience.\nValid CPR certification.\nValid standard First Aid certification.\nValid Lifeguard certification from the American Red Cross.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nEffective leadership skills and a strong work ethic.\nExcellent customer service skills with an energetic, enthusiastic, and motivational attitude.\nProfessional manner, discretion, and appearance.\nAble to show initiative and make decisions, must be able to troubleshoot and anticipate problems.\nMaintain a character of professionalism and confidence, with a tactful ability to communicate with participants.\nDemonstrate the ability to cooperate and work with others.\nDemonstrate consistent integrity, dependability, and responsibility and be able to meet deadlines.\nPossess effective verbal/written communication and expression.\nAdaptable and flexible under stressful and/or unusual situations.\nAwareness of proper body mechanics to prevent injury.\nPhysical/Mental Requirements (ADA Compliance)\nMental requirements include, but are not limited to, the ability to concentrate, take the initiative, cope with stress, and adapt to and stay alert in a business environment.\nThe position may require exposure to extreme weather conditions, including heat, humidity, rain, cold, and snow\nTo perform the job's essential duties, the employee must be able to speak, hear, see, and walk more than 2 miles daily, see, and walk more than 2 miles each day.\nStanding and sitting on the floor\nOccasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.\nBenefits Overview\nFull-time employees of JCC Denver are considered benefits eligible.\n NOTE: There are both part-time and full-time positions for this role. This posting is for a full-time position.\nJCC Denver contributes a portion of medical, dental, and vision plan premiums. The Center proudly pays for 100% of Basic Life Insurance, AD&D, Short-Term Disability, and Long-Term Disability coverage for benefits-eligible employees. Additional voluntary benefit plans are also available.\nJCC Denver offers a 401(K) Plan available for elective deferral contributions for employees over 21 years of age with no waiting period. JCC Denver matches 50% of employee contributions, up to 3%, on a 5-year vesting schedule.\nPaid Time Off (PTO) is a day-one benefit, accrued based on years of service and in compliance with the Colorado Health Families & Workplaces Act. First-year, benefits-eligible employees may accrue up to 120 hours of PTO in their first year of service.
