Responsibilities include performing routine cleaning, sanitizing high-traffic areas, maintaining restrooms and common spaces, and supporting the overall upkeep of the building.\nHOW I WILL CONTRIBUTE\nClean locker rooms, shower stalls, and washrooms daily to maintain sanitation and safety standards.\nSweep, vacuum, mop, scrub, wax, and polish various floor surfaces using industrial cleaning equipment, including scrubbing and buffing machines.\nOperate mechanized cleaning equipment such as vacuums, polishers, and buffers.\nWash interior and exterior windows according to the established schedule.\nStrip and recoat all floor areas as needed and in accordance with scheduled maintenance.\nUse ladders to clean walls, ceilings, vents, ceiling fans, and high or hard-to-reach areas.\nClean bathrooms, sink areas, offices, classrooms, common areas, and all other assigned spaces.\nDust all surfaces, including furniture, fixtures, equipment, and windowsills.\nMove furniture and equipment to ensure thorough cleaning of all areas.\nRemove stains from rugs, walls, floors, and other surfaces using appropriate cleaning chemicals and solutions.\nEmpty trash containers daily and ensure proper disposal of waste.\nSafely handle and store various cleaning solvents, chemicals, and supplies in compliance with safety protocols.\nPlan and organize work schedules for major cleaning tasks.\nPerform seasonal tasks such as sweeping exterior walkways or removing snow as needed.\nReport any maintenance or repair needs immediately to the supervisor.\nCommunicate effectively with staff, members, and other facility personnel.\nPerforms all duties as assigned.\nUnion position and Uniforms will be provided.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nOne-year related experience preferred.\nJob Competencies\nDependability & Reliability\nAttention to detail\nStrong Work Ethic\nPositive Attitude\nEffective Communication\nTime Management skills\nAbility to follow safety procedures\nTeamwork\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS\nRegularly stands, extensive walking, using hands and fingers, repetitive motion, carries, reaches, pulls, climbs, balances and lifts and/or moves up to 50 lbs. \nOccasionally stoops, kneels, crouches, and crawls. \nWORK ENVIRONMENT\nWork near moving mechanical parts\nExposure to extreme heat, extreme cold due to outdoor conditions. \nRisk of electrical shock. \nExposure to chemicals, fumes, and allergens. \nDIVERSITY, EQUITY & INCLUSION\nThe Jewish Community Center of Rochester is an equal opportunity employer.
