You will be mentored and working alongside experienced ESD consultants, contributing to a diverse range of projects across Australia. The role offers an excellent opportunity to develop technical expertise, gain exposure to industry-leading sustainability frameworks, and build a rewarding career in sustainable building design.\nIn this role, you will work across a range of activities:\nNCC Section J compliance assessments, including both Deemed-to-Satisfy (DTS) and J1V3 Performance Solution energy modelling.\nNatHERS assessments and BASIX certificates for residential developments.\nSupporting Green Star, NABERS and WELL assessments, including credit tracking, evidence compilation and submission preparation.\nEmbodied carbon and whole-of-life carbon assessments.\nPreparing ESD reports to support planning applications and building approvals.\nAssisting clients and design teams in identifying practical sustainability outcomes that balance environmental performance, compliance and project objectives.\nAttending project and design coordination meetings with clients, architects and engineers, while developing project management and consulting skills.\nRequirements And Qualifications\nMust be an Australian Citizen/Permanent Resident.\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Environmental or Renewable Energy Engineering, Architecture, Building Science, or a related discipline.\n0-2 years of relevant experience in sustainability consulting, building services, engineering, architecture or a related field. Internship and vacation work experience will be highly regarded.\nHave a genuine interest in sustainability, sustainable building design, building performance and energy efficiency.\nExposure to NCC Section J, NatHERS, energy modelling or building simulation through study or professional experience is desirable.\nFamiliarity with Green Star, NABERS, WELL or other sustainability rating tools is advantageous.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail.\nProficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.\nAbility to interpret architectural and engineering drawings, or a willingness to learn.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nWilling to think outside the box to help our clients and collaborate with the industry’s best.\n Jensen Hughes is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
